I like your post, anon. Always good to think a little more deeply than what is presented superficially.
As a Christian of 40+ years, I have been immune to the conditioning that politics or society attmepts to impose. For example, I am a parent of 9 children by one marriage partner, have home schooled and believe that a mother is the best person in the world to raise her own children and be a support to her husband as she manages the home while he earns a crust. I have never deviated from this position whatever the fashion of the day.
I only state this bit of background info by way of introducing the concept of principled agreement or opposition. Without a firm belief in any "superstructure" (or supra-natural) on which to base a worldview, one is left to scrabble around trying to piece together some sort of coherent foundation for our existence, purpose (or lack of it) and actions.
What few people will accept is that there IS a truth about existence and events. We are here, each one of us, because of a succession of events. Thoes events are undeniable since if they are not factual, we would not be here. TRUTH comes into the equation when the facts concerning our existence and the event that surround it are COMMUNICATED. Communication that is non-factaul is a lie. And it leads to people being deluded.
And I've forgotten how I even got here...
Probably rambled too much anyway.
