It's pretty much confined to brain eating cannibals like the satanist cultist who also used processed adrenal extractions. So expected the unexpected here. Prion disease is no zebra in cannibals.

Looks like you go some sixes happening.

You would expect prion disease in cannibals if they were preying on other cannibals.

There shouldn't be much of it in the general population.

If there is it wouldn't be good.

Has a long gestation so you could poison are the burger meat (say) and symptoms would become apparent for decades, bar a few outlier case. Then you'd get a lot.
