for months I've dealt with having a bunch of issues.

flicker.

I use an adblocker to filter out the depravity and sometimes the load 'flickers' all the images that I've filtered. I just hit 'reload into new tab'. if that one still flickers I do it again. Sometimes it takes a bunch of tries to make the flicker go away.

the other issue is what you say with the 'x' instead of the reload icon. That means that the page is hung on loading.

other times the page seems to hog as much processor time as possible. So I book mark and close it when I want to watch a video.

for a while I would open multiple of the same page and then use the one that loads first, closing the rest.

clearly there are scripts on the pages that are bandwidth hogs. I figure that there is hyjacking going on, but it doesn't always happen. So when a page is slow to respond (with the scroll) I also reload in a new tab and close that instance.

also after posting it often will not post, and hangs for a while. Usually now I have to close the broweser and flush the DNS caches to make it load again. This happens repeatedly all day, all night.

sometimes the page just stops refreshing, again I have to reload it after closing the broweser, flushing the caches, etc.

for this reason I usually book mark the page in my tab so I can easily load it upon the reload.

if the page doesn't load correctly, just keep trying, but close the one that is hogging bandwidth and processor time.

why would I ever reformat?

that's OLD SCHOOL microsoft nonsense.

the scripts that the page runs are obviously in different versions and the pages, my quess, get hyjacked with agency tripe that is designed to hog all the bandwidth.

and so you have to keep 'rolling the dice' so to speak, in order to get all the scripts that don't do that.

once you get the right scripts it all works.

but if you get the hyjacked ones you get the issues. It has NOTHING to do with my system(s) and everything to do with agency trolls who hyjack scripts and then post to 'reformat your system'.

no one on linux does such stuff for over twenty years. If the OS needs a reinstall you can throw in a new harddrive and run it from there and leave your data partitions alone.
