to the public it should look like there was a disconnect between CIA and the Trump admin. Trump would not want to fund CIA operations. But the reason to me isn't clear. Just because private intelligence can do more (illegal stuff) more easily and is cheaper (big surprise there) that doesn't suffice as an explanation imo. If Trump takes power away from the CIA and their whole scheme where CIA agents use govt clearance to work for private interests, where did that power go?
