Man charged with hospital mortuary sex offences
Damon Tingay has been charged with a sexual offence and trespass with intent to commit a sexual offence against a deceased adult and intentionally or recklessly causing public nuisance following an incident where forced entry was gained to the mortuary, which is a restricted area of the hospital, at around 4.30am.
Tingay, of no fixed address, faced three charges at Grimsby Magistrates' Court today. District Judge Daniel Curtis remanded the defendant in custody to appear at Grimsby Crown Court on a date in April.
A third charge read that at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby on March 17 he intentionally performed anact of penetrationon part of the body of a dead person, knowing or being reckless that it was sexual. The hearing lasted three minutes and the defendant was led away by dock officers.
