What constitutes a dead human being?
A human being who's soul has left it's body.
I would say, "yes, they have a soul," else they would be physically dead.
How gracious of God to allow humans to re-create the mechanics of His Creation - human reproduction - and not zap those dead who believe themselves worthy to play God.
All knowledge comes from God, and He has blessed humankind with the knowledge to use it for good - heal diseases; allow infertile couples children.
That said, can scientist create a sperm out of nothing?
