John Kirby [White House press conference]: We do not encourage or enable Ukraine to strike inside Russia.
Kirby: There is no indication at this time that Ukraine, or Ukrainians, were involved in the shooting [Russia].
Kirby: There are people in Moscow and in Russia that object to the way Mr. Putin is governing the country, but I don't think, at this early hour, we can make a link between the shopping mall attack and political motivations.
Jean-Pierre: There's the bi-partisan agreement that came out of the senate; republicans and democrats coming together to try and deal with what's going at the border. We're just not going to speak to what's going on with the leadership; I guess, get your popcorn, sit tight, and watch what's happening.
Reporter: Has [Biden] seen that dramatic video of migrants surging past National Guardsmen in Texas?
Jean-Pierre: I mean, look; I have not spoken to [Biden] about that video. What I can say is this- I really truly believe that's a question for the republican governor of Texas. This is something that he should address. That he should actually speak to…let's not forget who they passed by to pass by the razor wires. They passed by the Texas National Guards that the republican governor put at the border…this is a question for the governor of Texas. Seriously…he is the one who; the razor wire, that's him. The National Guards, that's him. The Border Patrol Agents still did their job, even though, it was, it was, you know, they got, you know, they got in the way with the governor's plans. Got in the way…you have a governor who has politicized this issue. Fact. That is just fact.
Reporter: You guys talk so much about having a more humane immigration system; this video does not show helpless women and children begging for a safe place to come in, it shows adult men landing haymakers on US Troops in uniform. If that was happening anywhere else in the world, wouldn't [Biden] send reinforcements?
Jean-Pierre: Everyone was apprehended by the Border Patrol Agents.
Reporter: Were they deported?
Jean-Pierre: They were apprehended. I can't speak to individual cases, that's not something I can do from here.
Reporter: There is a Venezuelan migrant with half a million followers on TikTok who is telling border crossers they can live in empty houses in this country. Would [Biden] support a law that would make that kind of squatting illegal?
Jean-Pierre: I have not seen that TikTok video, so I can't comment on that.
[maybe she didn't "see" the video, but she is absolutely aware of it as is Biden]
