Are [they] trying to turn Russians against guns now? Also, where were the armed Russian citizens? Nobody had even a revolver to shoot at the terrorists?! This thing stinks like glowing shit!

From search was looking if Russians could have guns in public:

"Russia has tightened its gun ownership laws following the school shooting that killed nine people in May 2021.0 The minimum age for buying hunting rifles and long-barreled guns has been raised from 18 to 21, and individuals convicted or under investigation for the consumption of drugs can be denied a gun license.1 Illegal gun possession was previously punishable by up to five years in prison. During the Russian Civil War, the Soviet government allowed a variety of small arms and bladed weapons.3 In 1992, the near-total-prohibition on private firearms ownership was lifted, and citizens could only own smooth-bore and double-barreled shotguns for hunting, pest-control, and target-shooting. Handguns were limited to retired army veterans, police officers, and others with a military or law enforcement background.2 Russians own over 20 million guns, under permits for hunting and sport. Weapons with magazines that have more than ten cartridges or fire bursts of bullets are already outlawed. To be granted a permit, citizens must obtain a mental health certificate from a medical professional."
