I recall seeing a newspaper clipping from the afternoon edition of the WashPost on the 1 month anniversary of the JFK assassination, in which Truman wrote that he, essentially, regretted inaugurating the C_A. His comments were interesting - he pointed out that he intended for it only to be an intelligence gathering organization - NOT an agency that had a special operations capability.
He was essentially pointing the finger at the SAC for JFK's assassination. The article was quickly yanked and memory-holed. Would appreciate any anon assist in posting that article.
The SAC is in Ukraine training operators there.
Mebbe the aftermath of Ukraine will be that the SAC will be no more…. C_A will return to what Truman intended it to be
