Funny, seems everyone always talks about likes, but they’re meaningless. Really important though:

 

Conversation is everything. If the algo thinks your post will create conversation, your content will go in front of more people

 

Your big takeaways are this:

 

  1. Create content that encourages conversation. The more the algo thinks people will reply, the more feeds your posts will appear on

 

  1. Respond to people that reply to you. If the algo thinks you'll reply to people, it'll serve up your content more. Engagements by the author are worth 75x more than likes

 

  1. Optimize for profile clicks. The more interesting of a person you are, the more people will want to go to your profile to check you out

 

  1. Don't be toxic. Negative interactions hurt your content 74x more than likes help your content

 

There's no need to overcomplicate this. Create content that encourages socializing on social media.
