Does anyone know which way the tide was going at the time of the collapse? I am thinking that might explain some of the ships change of direction.
Not sure of the exact time of the collision but found this (picrel)
sauce: https://www.tide-forecast.com/locations/Baltimore-Fort-McHenry-Maryland/tides/latest
So 01:30 local would put it right at the edge of the graph so the tide was going out which would mean the ship would have been getting pushed towards the bridge.
Which might explain why the back end was coming around after the ship lost power.
