When the coastguard boarded the boat they claim they were prevented from searching the cabin from Mr Bane as he was "highly intoxicated", a report has said. The boyfriend has never been interviewed by police, the boat wasn't forensically searched, and he refused help from the FBI.

Speaking from Essex, where she now lives, Ms Street called for the US authorities to remove the case from the Virgin Islands police.

Thieves raid Costa Concordia’s jewellery shops and steal ship’s bell
The wreck of the Costa Concordia has been plundered by thieves who carried out a smash-and-grab on two on-board jewellery shops — and even stole the ship’s bell.
Italian police have launched an investigation into the heist aboard the crippled luxury liner, which still lies half-capsized off the Tuscan island of Giglio.
The embarrassing disclosure comes as the disgraced skipper dubbed “Captain Coward” attends court hearings along with several ship’s officers and members of the onshore crisis management team to determine who will face trial for the disaster, which cost 32 lives.
First to disappear from the wreck during the rescue and recovery operation was the ship’s brass bell, a valuable if morbid souvenir.
Thieves then reportedly smashed the windows of two jewellery shops in the non-submerged part of the wreck, taking precious bracelets and necklaces and expensive watches.
Paintings and even clocks have also gone missing from the ship’s walls, as well as some items of furniture and levers from the ship’s controls.
The thieves were denounced in the Italian news channel TGCOM24, which broke the story, as “grave-robbers”. The carcass of the 950ft liner is lodged on the shallow seabed just yards off Giglio, within easy reach of land.

Two Of The Fastest U.S. Sealift Ships Trapped By Baltimore Bridge Collapse
The blocked entrance to the Port of Baltimore has stranded a total of four cargo ships that are on call to support U.S. military operations.
The vessels now stuck in Baltimore include the Algol class SS Antares and SS Denebola, both of which are part of the Ready Reserve Force (RRF) fleet. The Transportation Department's Maritime Administration (MARAD) manages the RRF and its ships are crewed by civilian merchant mariners. RRF ships fall under the control of the U.S. Navy's Military Sealift Command (MSC) when they are activated for operations. The activation process for RRF ships, which are typically kept at a reduced operating status (ROS) with a skeleton crew until called upon, can take between five and 10 days depending on the vessel in question.
Two more members of the RRF fleet, the roll-on/roll-off cargo ships MV Cape Washington and MV Gary I. Gordon, are also in Baltimore. Cape Washington's sister ship MV Cape Wrath is homeported there, too, but online tracking data indicates that it is still somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean sailing west after leaving Belgium earlier this month.
All of the RRF ships in Baltimore are categorized status-wise as "ROS-5," meaning they should be capable of heading out within five days of getting an activation order under normal circumstances, according to MARAD. The War Zone has reached out to MARAD for more information about the RRF ships in Baltimore and what it is doing in response to yesterday's incident.
Algol class have been called upon multiple times since they entered U.S. service. Just five of these ships were responsible for transporting 20 percent of U.S. cargo sent from the United States to Saudi Arabia during the first phase of Operation Desert Shield in the immediate run-up to the First Gulf War. The ships would go on to deliver 13 percent of all cargo that arrived in Saudi Arabia from the United States in the full course of that conflict. The U.S. military subsequently used Algols to support operations in Somalia and the Balkans in the 1990s, as well as the opening phases of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq in the early 2000s.
9s coming
My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still,
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will,
The ship is anchor’d safe and sound, its voyage closed and done,
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

Army Corps of Engineers to deploy 1,100 personnel to Baltimore
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is deploying more than 1,100 personnel to Baltimore, Md., following the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge into the Patapsco River early Tuesday morning, the service said in a statement.
The corps’ Baltimore District has activated its Emergency Operations Center, “clearing the way for more than 1,100 engineering, construction, contracting and operations specialists to provide support to local, state and federal agencies” in clearing the fallen bridge, the Army said in the release.
The Francis Scott Key Bridge, a major bridge in Baltimore, collapsed just seconds after being struck by the Dali, a cargo ship managed by Synergy Marine Group and owned by Grace Ocean Private Ltd, a Singaporean company.
The crumbling bridge sent multiple cars and construction workers who had been filling potholes plunging into the chilly waters below, with six people now missing and presumed dead.
The accident is likely to have massive economic impacts on Baltimore, where the port is used to import cars and food products and export coal. Maryland state data notes that 850,000 car and truck imports have rotated through the area, and some 30,000 vehicles cross the bridge daily.
Vessel traffic into and out of the port has been suspended until further notice, though the facility is still open to trucks.
President Biden on Tuesday pledged to send Baltimore “all the federal resources they need as we respond to this emergency,” promising “we’re going to rebuild that port together.”
The Army Corps of Engineers will help remove bridge debris from the river using the removal vessel Reynolds, which patrols the Baltimore Harbor and Patapsco River waters for drift and debris that could be hazardous to navigation.
The corps will also use a 61-foot survey vessel, the Catlett, to review the damage.
The Coast Guard, which helped with search-and-rescue efforts shortly after the collapse, said it would lead the accident investigation and pollution response.

In maritime law, the ship's master's responsibility for their vessel is paramount, no matter what its condition, so abandoning a ship has legal consequences, including the nature of salvage rights.
Gordon Sondland, a hotel magnate with long ties to Portland
Sondland made a name in business as owner of Provenance Hotels, which owns hotels throughout Portland and Seattle, and as founder of a bank. In the early 2000s, he made a foray into politics as an adviser to Democratic Gov. Ted Kulongoski and later served as a regional finance chairman for the Republican Party’s fundraising arm.
Sen. Ron Wyden, a Democrat, backed Sondand’s nomination and referenced their long friendship borne from Portland’s tight-knit Jewish community as testament to his character. Sondland has donated at least $13,850 to Wyden’s re-election efforts, campaign finance records show.
