If God controlled people there would be no free will and thus no point. Evil exists as do shadows therefore piety is to light as evil is to shadows. Satan is allowed to do things but he has to ask for permission as do demons (See Job). God only allows what will lead others to him BUT souls do not always accept Him as I'm sure you're aware.

God is more of a game designer. There are win conditions, punishments and rewards systems, constraints (see physics), enemies in game and there are users.

The instructions are in game and at the same time the enemy is trying desperately to win the same game God is Playing. God allowed him to play too.

God sent his only Son to show others how to play correctly. You play by not playing mini games and sticking to truth.

Trust in God. If you want what God wants, the. You're winning the game. It's hard for people without internal dialogue to visualize this concept but those without the Holy Spirit have zero idea what it's like; see 2 Corinthians 2:14. Be internal a bit and less external.

Corinthians 2:9-14 in the American Standard Version (ASV):"But as it is written, Things which eye saw not, and ear heard not, And which entered not into the heart of man, Whatsoever things God prepared for them that love him. But unto us God revealed them through the Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For who among men knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of the man, which is in him? even so the things of God none knoweth, save the Spirit of God. But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Spirit teacheth; combining spiritual things with spiritual words. Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged."
