“Campaign Finance Mule” Investigative Reporter/Researcher Peter Bernegger Arrested on Day of Wisconsin Primary – Charged With Rarely Used Crime

Wisconsin investigative reporter and researcher Peter Bernegger of Election Watch Incorporated was arrested and booked by the Dane County Sheriff this morning for “Simulating Legal Process,” according to the Dane County Sheriff’s website. Bernegger was intricately involved in exposing election campaign “smurfs,” or donors who are believed to be unknowingly used to launder numerous small-dollar donations to political candidates. Bernegger previously told The Gateway Pundit that the “smurfing” scheme “looks like the largest money laundering scheme in the history of the country.”

In March 2023, O’Keefe Media Group’s James O’Keefe interviewed several of these unsuspecting “smurfs” to see if they had donated large quantities of money to candidates and political action committees such as ACTBlue through numerous small-dollar donations. Of course, they hadn’t. These donations often amounted to thousands of dollars from “unemployed” (retired) seniors in numerous small donations.

Democrats such as Senators Raphael Warnock and John Fetterman, Governors Katie Hobbs and Gretchen Whitmer, Congressman Troy Carter, and Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Janet Protasiewicz were reported beneficiaries of this operation. Protasiewicz was recently elected to swing the makeup of the Wisconsin Supreme Court in favor of the Democrats.

FOX News eventually reported on the alleged money laundering scheme from “Democratic fundraising behemoth” ActBlue, back in April 2023 after Senator Marco Rubio demanded a Federal Elections Commission investigation into the campaign finance laundering accusations.

Now this…

Last night, Peter Bernegger was arrested by the Dane County Sheriff’s office and booked this morning for “Simulating Legal Process.” According to Wisconsin H.O.T’s Telegram page, there have only been two convictions for this crime since 1977.

“Simulating Legal Process”, WI Statute 946.68, states:

(1g) In this section, “legal process” includes a subpoena, summons, complaint, warrant, injunction, writ, notice, pleading, order or other document that directs a person to perform or refrain from performing a specified act and compliance with which is enforceable by a court or governmental agency.

(1r)

(a) Except as provided in pars. (b) and (c), whoever sends or delivers to another any document which simulates legal process is guilty of a Class I felony.

(b) If the document under par. (a) is sent or delivered with intent to induce payment of a claim, the person is guilty of a Class H felony.

(c) If the document under par. (a) simulates any criminal process, the person is guilty of a Class H felony.

(2) Proof that a document specified under sub. (1r) was mailed or was delivered to any person with intent that it be forwarded to the intended recipient is sufficient proof of sending.

(3) This section applies even though the simulating document contains a statement to the effect that it is not legal process.

(4) Violation of this section may be prosecuted in either the county where the document was sent or the county in which it was delivered.

Bernegger teamed up with Wisconsin H.O.T “to file 50 ethics complaints with the Wisconsin Elections Commission against both Democrats and Republican campaigns for allegedly accepting laundered funds and published the complaints [at] infoccc.com,” according to Wisconsin H.O.T.

US Assures Iran It "Had No Involvement" In Embassy Strike As IDF Claims Only A 'Military Building' Hit

The Biden administration was notified just minutes before the major Israeli airstrikes on the Iranian Embassy complex in Damascus on Monday, US and Israeli officials have told Axios; however, the Israeli side wasn't asking for a greenlight, the report emphasizes.

The US on Tuesday directly communicated to Iran that it "had no involvement" or advanced knowledge of the strike on the embassy annex which killed top Iranian commanders, including Brig. Gen. Mohammad Reza Zahedi, who reportedly oversaw IRGC Quds Force operations in Syria and Lebanon.

Crucially, Zahedi's death marks the highest ranking Iranian official killed since the 2020 US assassination of Qassem Soleimani by drone strike outside the Baghdad airport. In the aftermath of the attack on the embassy annex the death toll had risen to eleven. Iranian state television has since said that included among these were 6 Syrian citizens killed.

A National Security Council (NSC) spokesperson has been cited by Axios as underscoring that the United States "had no involvement in the [Israeli] strike and we did not know about it ahead of time."

Iranian state TV described that the attack "was carried out by F-35 fighter jets" which fired six missiles at the building, leaving it flattened. It housed the embassy's consular section as well as the residence of ambassador Hossein Akbari, who apparently wasn't there at the time and thus was unharmed.

Iran and Hezbollah have vowed revenge and that this will be "punished" while Russia has also expressed outraged, as we reported earlier. Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry on Tuesday expressed "the Kingdom’s categorical rejection of targeting diplomatic facilities for any justification, and under any pretext."

A strike against an embassy which is supposed to be 'protected' by international diplomatic norms upheld by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations is unprecedented and so marks a massive escalation by Israel.

Israeli Forces Track, Target, and Kill Aid Workers in ‘Unforgivable’ Attack

Israeli forces struck a humanitarian aid convoy, killing 7 members of the World Central Kitchen as they tried to bring food to Palestinian civilians.

The Israeli military launched an unprovoked airstrike against World Central Kitchen aid workers in Gaza, who were in the region to bring food to starving civilians who’ve been cut off from the rest of the world. Seven aid workers were killed in the Israeli strike, including a British citizen, an Australian citizen, a dual citizen of the U.S. and Canada, and a Jewish citizen of Poland.

Seven humanitarian workers with the World Central Kitchen were killed in an Israeli airstrike as their three-vehicle convoy left a warehouse in a deconflicted zone of Gaza, where they’d just unloaded more than 100 tons of food aid to be given to civilians in the region, who are battling starvation as tens of thousands of women and children continue losing their lives.

Though Israel is claiming that the attack on the humanitarian workers was a tragic accident, the World Central Kitchen is refusing to fall into the governmental narrative and has revealed in a public statement that their team was “coordinating movements with the IDF” when they were struck, and was driving in vehicles outfitted with World Central Kitchen logos, including on their rooftops.

In other words, the World Central Kitchen (WCK) says that Israeli forces knew exactly where they were and what they were doing there, but they called in an airstrike anyway.

“This is not only an attack against WCK, this is an attack on humanitarian organizations showing up in the most dire of situations where food is being used as a weapon of war. This is unforgivable,” World Central Kitchen CEO Erin Gore said in a public statement responding to the deadly Israeli attack.

World Central Kitchen founder, Spanish-American Chef Jose Andres, echoed those sentiments in a post he made to X, confirming the loss of life among his colleagues and declaring that “The Israeli government needs to stop this indiscriminate killing. It needs to stop restricting humanitarian aid, stop killing civilians and aid workers, and stop using food as a weapon.”
