RED HEIFER (Heb. פָּרָה אֲדֻמָּה), the animal whose ashes were used in the ritual purification of persons and objects defiled by a corpse (Num. 19).

Numbers 19:11 -12
‘He who touches the dead [d]body of anyone shall be unclean seven days. 12 He shall purify himself with the water on the third day and on the seventh day; then he will be clean.
The ashes of a sacrificed red heifer are needed to purify any priests (Kohen) that attend a re-built temple. The Kohen who performs the sacrifice must be pure, since none of the old red heifer's ashes are available for purification. Numbers 19 explains more.
The Temple Institute announced just yesterday that a Kohen had been located.
A KOHEN FIT TO PERFORM THE RED HEIFER CEREMONY!
The young kohen in the photo visiting the red heifer candidates in Shiloh, is fit to perform the red heifer ceremony. He came into the world via home birth, has never set foot in a hospital or cemetery, and therefore considered by halacha (Jewish law) to be of the highest level of Torah purity, having never contracted tum'at met (impurity imparted by contact with a corpse).
Should he opt to participate in the Temple Institute’s ongoing preparations in anticipation of the renewal of the ashes of the red heifer, he will undergo intense instruction and training.
