Juicy nugget:
"In the first place it's a simple matter to prove to Stirner that his egoistic man is bound to become communist out of sheer egoism. That's the way to answer the fellow. In the second place he must be told that in its egoism the human heart is of itself, from the very outset, unselfish and self-sacrificing, so that he finally ends up with what he is combating. These few platitudes will suffice to refute the one-sidedness.But we must also adopt such truth as there is in the principle. And it is certainly true that we must first make a cause our own, egoistic cause, before we can do anything to further it – and hence that in this sense, irrespective of any eventual material aspirations, we are communists out of egoism also, and it is out of egoism that we wish to be human beings, not mere individuals." - Fredrick Engels letter to Karl Marx, 19 November 1944
It was soon after publication of "The Ego and Its Own", perhaps the most dangerous book ever written, and this letter, that Karl Marx's writings appeared to have 'shifted', according to a number of historians, from 'early Marx' to 'mature Marx', with "The German Ideology" as the pivot point. Interestingly in that work, Marx was really over the top in insulting and name calling Stirner, as if Marx was, as anons in 2024 might phrase it, "triggered", as if Marx saw Stirner as a huge threat, so much so that it was as if, and this is anon's speculation, that Engels and Marx ADOPTED Stirner's Egoism but were so embarrassed and jealous of their own noteriety that they had to publicly condemn Stirner in order to make it seem like they were not at all INFLUENCED by Stirner's "corporeal" Egoism, when as Engel's letter to Marx indicates, THEY BELIEVED THEY NEEDED EGOISM TO BE the fundamental driver in their own worldview of communism!
Contrary to the notion that Marxism is an antidote and cure for greed, avarice and selfishness, Engels and Marx starting from 1844 were deeply psychologically driven by Egoism.
It's not so difficult to see anymore then how all attempts at implementing Communism SEEM like it's driven by maximal egoistic greed despite the catchphrases and symbols. IT'S BECAUSE MATURE MARXISM IS EGOISM AT ITS CORE.
Hopefully this gets seen by universities and colleges.
