POTUS must control public opinion before anything of serious substance on our shores can occur. We are light years away from that. The nation is split mostly 49/51 right now anyway. I'm not sure you're going to get much better as time passes without some significant event to push opinion. I think the simple answer is to watch wall street. When wall street corrects on the order of 25-50 %, then we'll know the game is actually afoot.

There was talk after the election of POTUS, that voter machine software tampering was discovered during the election night, and was dealt with real time. It's likely the same methods would be used again, however those methods are now known and ineffective. The issues may already be resolved as far as electronic voting is concerned.
If DS intends to use, what might as well be, Borg level technology on us, what then is the point of even thinking about it?
