I finally did a search to find responses to my question of 'is it worth a four hour drive to see the eclipse' and the answer someone gave is 'it is going to be the worst travel day of the year, like the day before Thanksgiving used to be'
so if it would be a three hour drive it might actually turn into a much longer time in the vehicle.

everyone who 'voted for it is long dead, and get it goes on, even though the people do not consent.
if there were a vote for 'consent' and consent were necessary, then anyone who was new who had never voted, or couldn't vote, would have to be free of the mandate. It would then mean that those laws wouldn't apply to them until they agreed to it.
Plus, if voting were 'consent' then those who vote 'no' to the issue also wouldn't have the law apply to them. We all know this isn't true either.
