Send in NATO troops directly?
Tactical nuclear strike?
Destroy a nuclear power plant?

The bad guys have to do something drastic- they are on the clock and Russia is gobbling up territory like cookie monster.
No matter what, we can never leave- even if all the baddies are wiped out.
We can never stop digging because they can never be allowed back again.
