Mueller is looking at the illegal activity Manafort was involved in (with Podesta's?) That drove or forced him to be a plant on the campaign as part of the pied piper strategy. Nothing to do with Russia. More likely Ukraine.
Manafort is not a god guy and not protecting Trump.
Did they use the threat of FBI to force him to volunteer for the Trump campaign?
Has he now flipped, and in protective custody?
