You're trying to claim the federal government has to decide if it has the authority to do what it doesn't have the authority to do. Just like with weed. The federal government does not have the authority to prohibit citizens from using weed, that's why when the states legalized it the feds didn't do anything, they CAN'T. They also CAN'T do what you claim they should do, they do not have that authority.

I believe EVERY state should outlaw abortion, but it's just that, it's up to the STATES. The federal government does not have the authority, no matter how much you want to argue they do. That's why roe was overturned.

I agree with you it's a ridiculous double standard to allow abortion but charge someone with murder if they kill the baby in attacking the woman. I'm against abortion, but I'm ALSO against the federal government exercising authority they do not have. I'm also against them setting shit like this up to get people to argue for them to do so.

You're confusing "person" with "citizen". The constitution forbids states from making laws depriving CITIZENS of rights. So if the government says a baby has rights under the constitution t, they would have to declare an unborn baby a citizen.

It already is clearly defined. The 14th amendment clearly defines it. The same amendment that says the states can't deny a right or privilege of a citizen.

 

Your error is believing the constitution says a citizen has a right to an abortion.

To interpret and determine if it's constitutional, NOT to define. Only the states have the power to modify the constitution with 3/4 approval.

 

Let's say the court says white people are 2/3rds of a person, the STATES can immediate overturn it.

 

Ultimately though, the power belongs to We the People. THEY answer to US.
