Anna Gristina is also known as the Soccer Mom Madam, who was prosecuted in 2012. Although the charges were for promotion of prostitution, her real "crime" was not turning over he client list.
Quote from a recent interview: “This case was never about prostitution, it was about politics,” Gristina said. “I was abducted off the street and they wanted me to become a confidential informant … They wanted me to set people up and tape record them, they wanted dirt on these people. They wanted leverage for political gain.”
So basically, they wanted her to front an Epstein type blackmail operation for them. When she refused, they arrested her and threw her in front of one of their controlled judges (Merchan) who sentenced her to 4 months in Rikers Island.
