do you mean the dough link at the top of #25436? That link is not needed for the dough. Only needed when baker is posting notes for anons during the bake. In this case, last half of bun was picked up after baking.

here is the history:

once upon a time, bakers baked entire breads because they were all 45 mins - 2 hours except gy. Notables were sometimes tagged to the dough post, but not always, bc breads were so fast.

then Q stopped (or paused) posting. Breads got longer & slower, which many more ghosted bakes. Any notes not tagged to dough often got missed by next baker.

So tagging the dough got to be a thing when posting notables.

When notes are collected after the fact, no tagging is necessary on the top.

understandable that a new baker would assume what you did. Fact is, one baker started typing link after bread number so he didn't have to remember to add it each time he posted notes. Other bakers liked that, so it caught on. That's all.
