This article has no information to back up the claim in the title to the article.
It is full of information that is irrelevant to the claim made in the title.
It then says that we have had hypersonic missiles since the 1950's which destroys the credibility of the claim in the title since technology has advanced quite a bit in the last 70 years.
We've been seeing this a lot when an article makes a claim and goes on to spew irrelevant information.
According to the contradictory article some missiles launch a hypersonic glide vehicle which will travel at hypersonic speed (this is what would strike the target—at hypersonic speed).
If that is even what the kinzhal missile designed to do. This is another refutation to the claim made in the title.
So much nonsense.
Popular mechanics used to put out good information but now seems to be controlled and owned by the propogandists.

I'm not claiming to know if the kinzhal is hypersonic. I'm just saying the article offers no information to the contrary as it actually contradicts the claim made in the title.
