You’ve Got Mail.

Actually you don’t have any mail. You do, most likely, have junk mail. Advertisements from big box store, maybe a corporation holding a utility, possibly a small percentage off retail price showing appreciation for a future customer.

It’s a lot like the movie by the same title. Starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks, about love online, and a quirky sense of tension brought on by a small Shop Around the Corner being cornered by a big Fox Book Super Store.

There is a subtle message about small yet homely, cozy and charming, nostalgic and yet dependable little store being taken over by massive corporations who can lower prices because they have the ability to present supply over demand.

There is one small caveat. It’s the people of the town or city who flow to the Fox hole.

You see, people need a savings. They need mass production in order to think it’s suitable to spend the little money they have.

It’s hard to say what came first the chicken or the egg, or in this case the corrupt corporate greed or the mindless pretentious shopper.

Either way, one thing is going, superstores near you. Gone are the days of style and grace. Plastic sacks, and tik tok trends are the only thing that is certain to keep you headed out to the mail box knowing, there is no love letter, just 20% off. With a 100$ purchase that is.
