yesterday spent time with family, and one in particular, seemed so entirely self absorbed and narcissistic, awhile also cutting and insulting in their comments

it was a bit of a shock because they weren't always this way

have had time to think it over, pray about it, etc.

concluded cannot control other people, can only control my reactions, or lack thereof

also thought about Jesus himself becoming angry with the pompous and conceited religious leaders of the time, so made me think that if Jesus was angered by others, then i certainly do not have more control over my emotions than He has

anyway, sorry for the rant, but when possible, avoidance of such persons, even if family, might be a good option during these times-that's what 2nd Timothy recommends
