Kiev mulls creating penal units

Convicts could be used for manual labor such as building defense fortifications, Justice Minister Denis Malyuska says

Ukraine could create special units for convicts who are willing to join the military, Justice Minister Denis Malyuska has said. The minister previously suggested thatthose who had been sentenced for murder could make for more effective soldiersthan ordinary mobilized citizens.

His comments came after the Ukrainian parliament earlier this month passed in the first reading a bill allowing certain categories of convicts to be drafted into the military in exchange for a pardon.

However, those convicted of crimes against national security, or of murdering two or more people or rape and pedophilia are not eligible.

Speaking on national TV on Saturday, Malyuska explained that the bill envisages not only “contract form of service, but also the creation ofseparate units where those who have been released from prison would serve.”

According to the minister, one of Kiev’s main goals is to create a level playing field for all so that those released from prison do not end up shirking their military service somewhere far from the front.

Malyuska also noted that convicts could perform tasks not related to actual combat. “The modern army is not only about shooting a gun. There is a lot of physical work that does not require the use of weapons 24/7. I think that such units can build infrastructure, field and defense works.”

He also previously argued that those convicts “who know how to kill would be more effective as soldiers” and suggested that, for example, they would be more reliable than robbers if given a gun. He also emphasized that convicts would be used either on the front or somewhere close to it.

Malyuska also admitted at the time that drafting criminalswould also help alleviate pressure on the country’s crowded prisons.

Ukraine’s campaign to call up convicts to service comes as part of its push to replenish battlefield losses. In late February, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu claimed that Ukraine’s forces had suffered more than 444,000 losses since the conflict began in February 2022. Earlier this month, he said Kiev had lost more than 80,000 service members this year alone.

Earlier this month, Zelensky also signed two laws, one that lowers the age of conscription for men from 27 to 25 and one that significantly tightens mobilization rules.

(They want more professional killers and criminals in their military, Neo Nazis are not enough. What happens when the war ends and they are released into society, if it still exists?)

The most disheartening thing of all is to realize how many RINOs, are their in power and will do anything to express their sheer hatred of Americans and America.

The whole God damned temple needs to be destroyed. God’s hand will come soon, because the have passed the Rubicon and have no care what that will do to our country.

This feels truly like “biblical times”, a time for choosing to all in DC and government. Hades is on the horizon due to their greed.

Scott Adams explains in layman terms how the CIA ‘captures’ our lawmakers right under our noses4/19/24

What the heck happened to Speaker Mike Johnson? When he first emerged as the speaker after McCarthy was ousted, he was hailed as a “MAGA” hero. Many thought we finally had someone at the helm who truly had our best interests at heart. Boy, were we wrong.

In a shockingly short period of time, Speaker Johnson went from a MAGA hopeful to a Deep State stooge. This drastic change has many people asking: Was he always a snake in the grass, or did they manage to blackmail him into becoming their dutiful little puppet? Well, it’s likely a very complex issue with many layers, but one thing seems clear:Speaker Johnson likely fell victim to a very coordinated CIA plot. This strategy is often used against our government officials to ensure they toe the line with the uni-party regime. The more we uncover and discuss, the more we realize just how deep these tactics go into manipulating our leaders. The good news is that this topic is gaining traction, with influential voices like conservative cartoonist legend Scott Adams chiming in. We appreciate how Scott Adams has brilliantly managed to break down what the CIA is doing into simple layman’s terms. It’s refreshing and enlightening to have such complex issues made accessible and understandable for everyone quickly. Scott took to X and, in just about five sentences, he summed up decades of CIA covert operations against our lawmakers and the American people.

Scott Adams:

• If I correctly understand our system of government, when a president or leader in the Congress gets into office, someone in the CIA pulls them aside for “the talk” and completely changes their priorities.

• The public is then told the leaders now have secret knowledge the public can never know.

• But the leader has no way of knowing the “secret” information is true and in context.

That puts the secret-keepers in firm control of the government’s big decisions. If the secret-keepers agree with a government policy, they stay out of it. If they disagree with a policy, they say the UFOs will attack — or some other unverifiable thing — andby the way, we have recordings of every phone call you ever made, andscare the leaders into compliance.

• Right in front of us. None of this is secret.

Revolver helped to kickstart the discussion about “Congressional capture” after coming across a tweet from Edward Snowden. He described what’s happening with Speaker Johnson as a “textbook case of Congressional capture.” Since then, it’s become a hot topic of conversation, and that’s definitely a good thing. It’s crucial we shine a light on these shadowy intel dealings and bring these covert manipulations against “we the people” into public view.

Revolver:

Obviously, there’s a big change happening. Johnson entered the DC Swamp roaring like a MAGA lion and emerged whispering like an establishment RINO.The transformation is so obvious, it’s impossible to miss. Here’s Johnson alongside former Speaker and noted RINO turncoat Paul Ryan. Truly, a picture worth a million unthinkable words.

So, what exactly is “Congressional capture” that Snowden speaks of, and how does it work? Well, it’s simple in theory but can be quite complex in practice, shaping itself around each politician.

In short,“Congressional capture” is when lawmakers or legislative bodies fall under the heavy influence of outside interests, like big corporations, special interest groups, or US intel. These influences ensure that their agendas take precedence over the public’s needs. In simple terms, this means certain policies or laws that favor these groups are advanced, while criticism or resistance is quietly suppressed. Suddenly, their most ferocious critics become their biggest cheerleaders.

Recently, War Room’s SteveBannon also called out Johnson for how quickly he got captured. It only took the Deep State three briefings to flip him over to their side.

Sadly, our government has established numerous layers and sources of control aimed at capturing our elected officials. This is what happens when the Deep State captures a Republican.

But the situation goes even deeper than that. American citizens are also caught in their own sort of “capture” program, bombarded by massive amounts of regime-approved propaganda. The bottom line is that our government is diseased and beyond any “quick” fix.

It really makes you think, doesn’t it?

The United States has morphed into exactly what our founding fathers tried so hard to protect us from.

Hysterically Funny

Trump Campaign Denies Press Credentials for Several Journalists

Reporters from The Washington Post,Axios, and Vanity Fair have recently been rejected, though blanket bans, à la 2016, don’t appear to be happening. (“It’s much more picky-choosy,” says one journalist.) The Trump team responds: We’re “the most press-friendly and accessible.”

Last week, Washington Post reporter Isaac Arnsdorf published his book, Finish What We Started: The MAGA Movement’s Ground War to End Democracy. The book has been praised by two such members of that movement, Steve Bannon and John Fredericks, both of whom had Arnsdorf on their shows and recommended the book to their audiences. The Trump campaign, however, has had a different response to the book, specifically its title; prior to publication, they asked Arnsdorf to change it, and when he didn’t, they retaliated by cutting off his access, according to multiple people familiar with the matter. Since February, Arnsdorf has not been permitted to enter campaign events as credentialed media. Other reporters have seen him working from the public section, I’m told. (I agree with Trump the writer said PDJT was responsible for the violence and he repeats the election was stolen, when there is no proof. I couldn’t believe Bannon didn’t call BS)

(Arnsdorf declined to commentand referred Vanity Fair to a Postspokesperson, who said the paper “will continue to fairly, accurately and independently report on the presidential campaign, including candidates' rallies and other events.”)

In recent weeks, the campaign has taken similar punitive measures against other reporters, according to multiple sources familiar with the moves. An Axios reporter had their credentials approved for an event and then revoked the same day, following the publication of a story about the Trump-led Republican National Committee’s struggles in swing states. (An Axios spokesperson declined to comment.) At least one other Post reporter was temporarily denied press credentials to multiple events after accurately reporting on Trump’s public statements. Mostprecently, Brian Stelter, a special correspondent for Vanity Fair, was denied press access to Trump’s rallyin Schnecksville, Pennsylvania.

Reporters who’ve been iced out in recent weeks have not been banned outright from events; they can still go as a member of the public, but that requires getting to rallies much earlier, which could be a deal breaker for some journalists given their busy schedules. “It’s harder for people to accuse them of shutting out reportersbecause it’s pockets of people, and it’s typically temporary,” said one political reporter.

And it’s not just events, they added. “If they’re pissed off about a story, they won’t talk to you for a week or two.” I spoke with anumber of reporters for this story who declined to discuss the dynamic with the campaignout of a fear of losing access.

The news follows the campaign’s previouslyreported clash with NBC News correspondent Vaughn Hillyardin January, when they refused to let Hillyard—the designated pool reporter—travel with Trump to New Hampshire campaign stops. The restriction was apparently due to questions that Hillyard asked Representative Elise Stefanik about the E. Jean Carroll case, in which Trump was found liable for sexual abuse and defamation. Hillyard also had an incident with the Trump operation last spring, aboard Trump’s plane. As I reported at the time, a line of questioning from Hillyard related to the Manhattan DA’s case against Trumpirritated the former president, prompting him to chuck Hillyard’s phones to the side and tell his aides, “Get him out of here.”

2/2

During the2016 election, the Trump campaign would deny entire news organizations, from the Post to BuzzFeed News to HuffPost, press credentials for events, so often that The New York Timesreferred to Trump as “punisher in chief.”

This time around, Trump’s 2024 team—which has been described as more professional and “disciplined” than those of his previous runs—seems to be taking a different tack toward the press. “It’s not like the White House and it’s not like previous Trump campaigns,” a second political reporter told me. “It’s much more picky-choosy;much more of a controlled environment over who has access.”

The Trump campaign’s engagement with the press has even earned it praise. Some reporters have said they have in certain ways been easier to deal with than Joe Biden’s campaign, according to The New Yorker’s Clare Malone, who recently wrote a piece about Trump spokesman Steven Cheung headlined, “The Face of Donald Trump’s Deceptively Savvy Media Strategy.”

“Nobody has been denied any access to our events,” Cheung said in a statement to Vanity Fair. “If reporters want to cover our events but are unable to secure a coveted press badge, they are more than welcome to apply for general admission tickets in order to experience our events.

Throughout this campaign, we have been the most press-friendly and accessible [campaign] in modern history. We have flown reporters on Trump Force One, let them live stream from inside our motorcades, and given access that has never been granted during legal days.We don’t let petty differences get in the way of using the media to get our message out.”

However,” he continued, “there have been certain reporters who have engaged in unethical conduct or breached basic journalistic standards of sharing privileged information to other campaigns and individuals.”

Cheung did not specify which reporters he’s referring to, though said that“unfortunately for those people, they can never be trusted again and will never be given the benefit of the doubt on this campaign or when we return to the White House.” (Maggie should have caught the train)

(None of the reporters cited in this piece have, to Vanity Fair’s knowledge, engaged in any unethical or otherwise problematic behavior.)Kek even VF is afraid of being canned

These people are so dishonest, they have lied about him for years and don’t expect a backlash? And still lie about J6, as if anyone should be kind to them.

It’s really funny no one wanted to comment because they now know (which they should have years ago) Trump and team scan all articles related to him in the am.

Maybe this treatment will give them more respect of PDJT? Kek, whom I kidding.

Producer Sues Al Roker Over DEI Policy Failures

Bill Schultz claims he was fired in retaliation for pushing back against executives at Al Roker Entertainment, who allegedly undercut a PBS-mandated diversity program.

WINSTON CHO APRIL 16, 2024

The Irony is delicious

Al Roker and his production banner have been sued by Bill Schultz, a former executive producer on an animated kids TV series in development. Schultz (The Simpsons, King of The Hill, Garfield) claims he was fired for objecting to the company’s failure to follow a diversity initiative intended to bring minority writers onto PBS television productions.

The lawsuit, filed in New York federal court on Tuesday, alleges executives at Al Roker Entertainment “callously disregarded” a diversity, equity and inclusion program, commonly called DEI, mandated by PBS, which covered the bulk of the production expenses for animated series Weather Hunters, by attempting to have Black writers touch up scripts written by white scribes to give the appearance of a diverse writers room.

In Hollywood, DEI is seen by some as especially significant in efforts to boost diversity, on and behind the screen. The programs, however, have attracted legal scrutiny by plaintiffs who say companies aren’t properly implementing the initiatives, and, more recently, by others who claim that they discriminate against nonpreferred groups, especially in the wake of the Supreme Court’s opinion knocking down affirmative action. In March, CBS Studios was sued for allegedly carrying diversity quotas that discriminate against straight white men. Some companies have turned away from explicitly naming racial groups in DEI, instead preferring to say “underrepresented groups.”

According to Tuesday’s complaint, Weather Hunters has a unique ownership structure in which the majority of the show’s production costs are covered by PBS, while Al Roker Entertainment retains complete ownership of the series. PBS provided 70 percent of the project’s financing for 40 half-hour episodes with the stipulation that it adhered to a DEI plan.

The lawsuit says efforts to boost diversity were particularly vital to PBS given that Weather Hunters‘ target demographic was Black families. But Schultz claims that Al Roker Entertainment executives, who were allegedly given “totally authority” to manage the series by Roker, “treated the DEI Policy as discretionary and an obstacle to be circumvented.”

Schultz was served a notice that he was in breach of his contract for failures related to staffing, among other things, shortly after an August 2023 meeting in which the show’s story editor stated that he “could not meet the production schedule if BIPOC writers were used to write the stories” and that “he would need to hire experienced non-BIPOC writers,” the lawsuit alleges.

“Instead of giving the chances to BIPOC writers as had been the plan, the story editor, repeating a strategy previously advocated and backed by Al Roker Entertainment management in writing, wanted to have ‘non-BIPOC’ writers write the stories, and then bring on a ‘BIPOC’ writer and after the stories/episodes [were] shaped, they could be ‘hand[ed] off to BIPOC writers,'” states the complaint.

A month after the meeting, a Black producer critical of the implementation of the DEI policy was reprimanded, the lawsuit claims. Schultz was suspended and then terminated around the same time. He faults management at Al Roker Entertainment for refusing to see DEI as a requirement but rather a “box to be checked in the most expedient manner possible” and as an “impediment to business as usual.”

Schultz, a former Carton Networks and Marvel Studios executive who worked on the series since 2014 and was paid $544,000 for the initial 40-episode order along with a piece of net revenue (25 percent with certain deductions and reductions), says that he informed Roker of his production banner’s refusal to properly follow PBS’ DEI policy but that he didn’t address the issue by reprimanding allegedly problematic executives.

The complaint brings claims for violations of New York’ human rights law, which bars discrimination on the basis of race, as well as breach of contract and negligence, among several others.

Roker and Al Roker Entertainment didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
