Biden asks Americans to choose between freedom and democracy

The president’s latest blunder comes as a majority of Americans doubt his mental capacity for office

US President Joe Biden has implored his supporters to choose “freedom over democracy,” in the latest of a long series of gaffes and verbal blunders. Conservative pundits have viewed the incident as more proof that the 81-year-old is unfit for office.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania on Thursday, Biden rattled off a string of buzzwords as he asked voters whether they would choose him over former President Donald Trump in November’s presidential election.

“Are you ready to choose unity over division? Dignity over demolition? Truth over lies? Are you ready to choose freedom over democracy? Because that’s America,” he exclaimed.

Biden’s “freedom over democracy” line drew a mix of laughs and applause from the crowd, and ridicule from conservative pundits and influencers.

“When people were concerned about Ronald Reagan having cognitive decline near the end of his second term, it was nothing like this,” the Conservative Brief wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Look in the mirror and ask yourself, truthfully, if this is the man you want in charge of our security, our economy, and our country for another four years?”

Biden has a long history of similar slip-ups, and was ridiculed for a 2019 campaign speech in which he declared: “We choose unity over division. We choose science over fiction. We choose truth over facts.”

Republicans insist that Biden’s cognitive faculties are declining, and that this decline has accelerated over his three years in the White House. Video footage of the president shaking hands with imaginary people, getting lost when out in public, and telling reporters that he had just met with long-dead world leaders have served to bolster their case.

In February, US Justice Department prosecutor Robert Hur opted not to charge Biden for mishandling classified documents, noting in a report that the president suffered extreme memory lapses and didn’t possess the “mental state of willfulness” needed to commit a crime.

An Associated Press poll last month found that six out of ten American adults doubt Biden’s mental capacity to serve as president.

Ukraine secures another benefactor

South Korea has signed a framework agreement on economic cooperation with Kiev, including $2.1 billion in low-interest loans

South Korea has followed through on its pledge to provide more aid to Ukraine, signing a framework agreement that clears the way to give Kiev $2.1 billion in low-interest loans to help shore up its finances.

South Korean Finance Minister Choi Sang-mok and his Ukrainian counterpart, Sergey Marchenko, signed the deal on Friday in Washington, where both men had traveled to attend G7, IMF and World Bank meetings. Seoul previously gave Ukraine $200 million in humanitarian aid amid its conflict with Russia and promised to provide an additional $2.1 billion through long-term loans.

“Friday’s agreement was meant to lay the legal foundation on credit assistance,” the South Korean Finance Ministry said on Sunday in a statement. “The two sides agreed to explore projects together that help Ukraine’s reconstruction and development.”

The deal comes at a time when Russian forces are making battlefield gains and Ukraine’s cash-strapped government is struggling to ramp up weapons production. Marchenko told G7 finance ministers that although Ukraine’s government has made progress in boosting its revenue and borrowing money domestically, “internal measures have only limited effect.” He added, “Ukraine’s financial needs in the conditions of full-scale war are significant, and international support continues to be vital.”

South Korea has faced pressure from the US and other Western allies to boost its support for Ukraine, but it has sought to avoid raising tensions with Russia. Although Seoul has maintained an official policy of providing only non-lethal aid to Kiev – the country has a law against sending weapons to war zones – President Yoon Suk-yeol’s administration reportedly agreed to transfer over 300,000 artillery shells to Ukraine last year.

The framework agreement with Ukraine calls for South Korea to start providing low-interest loans in 2025. US lawmakers passed a long-stalled Ukraine aid bill on Saturday. House Speaker Mike Johnson won more support for the legislation by reclassifying some of the nearly $61 billion that will be given to Kiev as loans that will supposedly be paid back at some point.

Borrowing $6 billion a DAY against our future

The U.S. government has become so bloated that it has to borrow an additional $6 billion per day in order to pay its bills – bills for things that most Americans do not even approve.

The powers that be are basically living off what amounts to high-interest credit cards, the balances of which never get paid off as interest accrued shoots for the stratosphere.

Most of the U.S. national debt was accrued in just the past two decades, believe it or not. And with each passing day, that debt skyrockets at an exponential rate, meaning it is compounding faster and faster over time.

There is no scenario in which the national debt can ever be paid off in the current paradigm. It will eventually reach a breaking point that unleashes the biggest collapse this nation and the world have ever seen, and will ever see.

Four presidents, 10 sessions of Congress, and two wars are responsible for the bulk of America's current national debt, which is estimated to be about 130 percent larger than the entire gross domestic product (GDP) of the nation.

"In other words, the government is spending more than it brings in," the Whiteheads write.

"The U.S. ranks as the 12th most indebted nation in the world, with much of that debt owed to the Federal Reserve, large investment funds and foreign governments, namely, Japan and China."

The Federal Reserve, by the way, is neither government nor a reserve of any kind. It is a private central banking cartel that is robbing the nation blind while shifting all the wealth to a handful of wealthy families and their minions, which currently rule the Western world.

Interest payments on the ever-growing national debt now massively exceed the amount the government spends on veterans' benefits and services, as well as on education, disaster relief, agriculture, science and space programs, natural resources, foreign aid and environmental protection combined.

The Committee for a Reasonable Federal Budget estimates that interest payments on the national debt are nearly twice what the federal government will spend on transportation infrastructure, and more than four times what it will spend on K-12 education.

"In ten years, those interest payments will exceed our entire military budget," the Whiteheads warn.

For betraying the wishes of the majority of his conference, Speaker Johnson is facing an effort from within his own party, led by Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene to remove him from his post.

The move by the House to approve the aid package was met with glee from globalist figures in Europe, with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen saying: I welcome the overwhelming positive vote… Ukraine deserves all the support it can get against Russia.”

Outgoing Dutch Prime Minister and one of the leading candidates for the next head of NATO, Mark Rutte said: “Very good news that the U.S. House of Representatives has approved a new aid package for Ukraine. This is an important step in ensuring continued support for Ukraine as it defends itself against Russian aggression.”

Conservative MP Announces Resignation Amid Allegations of Misuse of Campaign Funds and Attempted Ransom Payoff

Conservative MP Mark Menzies said on Sunday that he will resign following allegations that he misused campaign money and sensational claims that he had begged for cash from an aide to pay off a ransom to “bad people”.

Menzies, who has represented Flyde in Lancaster in the House of Commons since 2010, said in a statement on Sunday that “due to the pressures on myself and my elderly mother, I have decided to resign from the Conservative Party and will not stand at the forthcoming general election.”

“This has been a very difficult week for me and I request that my family’s privacy is respected,” he added, according to The Telegraph.

The move came after he had the whip suspended from him in the parliament amid claims that he had used £14,000 in political donations to help fund his private medical bills.

Menzies was also accused of calling his former campaign manager in the middle of the night last December, begging for money to pay off “bad people” who had allegedly locked him in a flat, claiming he needed £5,000 — later rising to £6,500 — as a matter of “life and death”.

Previously, the MP said of the claims: “I strongly dispute the allegations put to me. I have fully complied with all the rules for declarations.”

The Conservative MP formerly faced scandal in 2014 when he was alleged by a 19-year-old Brazilian male prostitute to have paid him for sex and had sought to purchase illegal drugs. While the scandal forced him to resign as a ministerial aid to then Prime Minister David Cameron, Menzies maintained a number of the allegations were untrue and that he would correct them in “due course”.

The Tory Party said on Saturday its recent investigation into Menzies could not “conclude that there has been a misuse of Conservative Party funds”.

Nevertheless, the party said there was “a pattern of behaviour that falls below the standards expected of MPs and individuals looking after donations to local campaign funds which lie outside the direct jurisdiction of the Conservative Party”.

The party went on to say that it will be looking into whether the actions of the Flyde MP “potentially breached the Nolan Principles of Public Life”.

“We will of course share any information with the police if they believe it would be helpful to any investigation they decide to undertake. Suggestions the Party has not been seriously examining this matter are demonstrably false as we have worked to protect the identities of all those involved whilst the facts could be established,” a Tory spokesman said.

On Friday, the Lancashire Police announced that it opened an investigation into the matter following a complaint lodged by the Labour Party.
