Interestingly, Anthony also bore the brunt of the fallout, facing the harshest penalties of all. He incurred a staggering $640,000 salary loss and was suspended for 15 games. Such a severe punishment prompted the 10-time All-Star to have a conversation with Stern.
David Stern instructed Anthony to mend his ways

Following his conversation with Stern, 'Sweet Melon' seemed to have a newfound focus on his basketball career and personal responsibilities, and that showcased in the months afterward.
In the 2006-07 season, Melo earned his first All-Star selection after posting a career-best scoring average of 28.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game, earning him a spot on the All-NBA (Third) Team.
