like much "magic", the whole "we have to tell you what we're going to do before we do it"-thing is just hidden knowledge.

 

it is actually compensating for the average human's ability to pick out the new thing and properly evaluate it for danger. if they have sent it into our consciousness as something harmless the first time then our ability to properly notice the danger is compromised by a significant percentage.

they might be stuck on that kind of thing, but this anon believes it has little effect. it seems to have more in common with a stage magician setting up his trick with that initial patter–moving our attention in the direction that they need it to move so that the "bullshit sensors" don't go off. so that we don't start looking at the wrong spot.
