It is the worst cause he is nice 90% of the time, but on certain things he gets protective and will bite not food so much but toys or fresh bones he is a 100lb pit bull so that does not help, my solution this far has been structure crate training and isolation, I am of the mind set that he shouldn't have been put down but I am In a rare cercumstance so that I am able to spend almost24/7 with him and we have unlimited room, It has been 3 years and the behavior has become very rare almost never, I tested him the other day with a rib and he started getting agresive posturing, I commanded him to leave it and sit he hesitated but he did it he made some growing sounds but I broke his focus from the treat with a watch me command I was able to pick it up and inspect the bone, I sat it back down and commanded him to take it to his crate and he did, I am glad I didn't get attacked
Some dogs are going to have to be watched and isolated if you don't have the time its not going to boad well for the dog
