President Trump and Ron DeSantis Met for Several Hours Sunday Morning in Florida

April 28, 2024 | Sundance |

Many Ted Cruz Ron DeSantis supporters for 2024 will climb their high horses and pontificate about how magnanimous it is for both President Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to put away the swords and be political allies again.NOT ME!

I’m sick and tired of these backstabbing Decepticons and the insufferable idiots who don’t see through their moves and motives. The same insufferable Never Trump Cruz Crew from 2016 was behind the insufferable Never Trump DeSantis operation for 2024; only this time, to make matters exponentially worse, they merged the DeSantis team with the insufferable Bush supporters.

No, nothing -not a scintilla of a thing- about this scheming conniving brand of “republicanism” that stand beside the fraud known as Ron DeSantis is worth aligning with. There are two types of Ron DeSantis supporters, (1) the people who are lying, conniving closet leftists operating under the uniparty guise; and (2) those who are too stupid to know about it. I want nothing to do with either entity, and the MAGA coalition gains nothing from their association.

Apparently, Ron DeSantis and President Trump met together in Florida for “several hours” Sunday morning at the request of Ron DeSantis. Gee, this is a big surprise (/sarc). [Washington Post Article – Politico Article]

The one constant chapter in the DeceptiCon playbook consists of the pages that follow “if you lose.” That chapter, written by Lee Atwater, comes immediately after the outline of the Alex Castellanos rule: snuggle up close and shiv him in the ribs. In the margins of those pages you will find mynotes, “never, ever trust a never Trumper”…

DeSantis brings nothing to the MAGA table and positioning himself for 2028 only makes his snake underbelly show even more right now. Sure, Casey and Ron both realize the “Top Gov” did the big stupid, but one thing is certain to happen from me,I will never allow people to forget this vain effort at recovery.

DeSantis needs to disappear, and Trump needs to Make Shame Great Again.(I agree 100% with Sundance)

VIA POLITICO – Gov. Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump seem ready to put their feud from the Republican presidential primary aside — for real this time.

The two Florida Republicans met in Miami Sunday morning to talk about how they could work together during the general election, according to half a dozen people familiar with the meeting who were granted anonymity to speak freely.

The meeting was first reported by the Washington Post.

The get-together was arranged by Florida real-estate broker Steve Witkoff, several people confirmed to POLITICO. A Trump campaign official said it was a “good meeting set at the request of Gov. DeSantis.”

Three DeSantis donors texted POLITICO to say that they thought the move for the two men to make peace was “smart.” (read more)

WASHINGTON POST – […]There is an incentive for DeSantis to form a closer relationship, as well. People close to DeSantis have said it is untenable for him to continue to have a strained relationship with Trump, particularly as he eyes his political future. He is widely viewed among Republican donors and consultants as weakened after a shellacking by Trump in the primary. (more)

F-16s could arrive in Ukraine this month – official (more equipment for Russia to target)

Kiev may receive the US-made jets sometime after May 5, but the exact timeline is not yet clear, the Air Force spokesman has said

US-made F-16 fighter jets could start arriving in Ukraine as early as this month, a senior Ukrainian military official has said.

Speaking on national TV on Wednesday, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Ilya Evlash predicted that Kiev could receive the first batch of the advanced jets after Orthodox Easter, which is celebrated on May 5 this year.

Still, he cautioned against getting hopes up. “We are not guessing the future, because the date has been changed several times. That’s why we are waiting,” Evlash.

The official stressed that the timeline for F-16 deliveries is out of Ukraine’s hands, and that Kiev’s military “will work with what it is given to it.”

Later, in an interview with the newspaper Ukrainskaya Pravda, Evlash elaborated that “‘after Easter’ is a drawn-out notion,” noting that Kiev would like to get the warplanes as soon as possible and vowing to make an announcement once they arrive. He added that Ukrainian pilots are currently training to fly the jets in Denmark and the US.

In March, Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren said that the first batch of F-16 fighter jets would arrive in Ukraine from Denmark this summer. This timeline was also confirmed by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, who nevertheless acknowledged that more training is needed both for pilots and ground personnel.

Ukrainian officials have admitted that operating F-16s will be fraught with serious practical difficulties. Last month, Evlash said that building bunkers for the jets will require “colossal funds,” adding that Kiev would try to use other methods to protect the aircraft from strikes, including dispersing them among different airfields.

Last year, Western countries announced an international coalition to help Ukraine procure the US-designed F-16s, with plans to provide Kiev with several dozen aircraft.

However, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said last autumn that while the F-16s would certainly boost Ukraine’s military capabilities, they would not be “a silver bullet”capable of drastically changing the situation on the battlefield.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said thatF-16s will not change the outcome of the conflict, promising that theRussian military will destroy the planesas it has other Ukrainian hardware.

(All these countries are doing is getting rid of old equipment so the can take a write off and buy new ones. Ukraine is the salvage junk yard. Either they wreck them quickly or Russia bombs them.)

Federal Agency Had ‘Pallets’ Of Documents Sent To Mar-A-Lago One Year Before DOJ Raid

BY: BRIANNA LYMAN

A federal agency worked with the Trump transition team to send two pallets of “document boxes” relating to former President Donald Trump’s presidency to his Mar-a-Lago home — one year before Special Counsel Jack Smith then raided the residence to look for classified documents.

Smith indicted Trump in June of 2023 for allegedly mishandling classified documents, one year after armed federal agents raided Mar-a-Lago in search of such documents.

The General Services Administration (GSA) was in talks with Trump’s team both during and after his term regarding “pallets” of items from the president’s tenure, emails show. The GSA informed Trump’s transition team that there were six pallets that needed to be transferred from Virginia to Florida.

Of the six pallets, two were designated to be sent to Mar-a-Lago and four to a West Palm Beach storage unit, according to emails. The two pallets to be delivered to Mar-a-Lago from an Arlington, Virginia facility contained “document boxes,” according to an email previewing the shipping charges.

“I understand that we are ready to ship,” read an email sent Aug. 26, 2021 byKathy Geisler, the director of the Office of Portfolio Management and Real Estate’s Program Execution Division, that included Trump aide Beau Harrison as a recipient. “I know that originally we had 3 pallets going to the storage unit — that is now 4 pallets going to the storage unit. 2 Pallets will go to Mar-a-Lago.”

A July 2021 letter from Harrison stated the items to be shipped from Arlington, Virginia to Palm Beach, Florida were “required to wind down the Office of the Former President or are items that are property of the Federal Government.”

It is unclear how long the pallets sat in the Virginia facility or who had access to them.

An FBI agent said during a witness interview that the GSA was in possession of six pallets and that the office “contacted the office of 45 to inform them that, you know, they have to go,” according to a screenshot of the transcript posted by independent journalist Julie Kelly.

“They — someone has to pick them up, or they have to be shipped, or something to that effect.”

The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was also involved in the transition, but by June 2021, NARA archivist David Ferriero had become frustrated by the pace of “good-faith efforts” by Trump’s team to address NARA’s concerns, a filing screenshot posted by Kelly shows.

The Federalist asked NARA whether the pallets shipped by GSA included the documents that were later confiscated by Smith’s team during their raid of Mar-a-Lago, and NARA’s media staff responded that the agency had “no awareness about the contents of the materials on the pallets and had no involvement in the move project that is referenced in the GSA emails.”

“NARA was harassing Trump throughout 2021 for what they insisted were government records apparently WITHOUT contacting GSA to search dozens of boxes in their possession,”Kelly observed.

President Joe Biden, whose Justice Department is carrying out this and another political prosecution of Trump, escaped indictment for his own classified documents scandal after a special counsel determined it would be hard to convince a jury that the aging president committed “a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”

Trump Holds Edge Over Biden in Seven Key Swing State Polls

Democrats Maintain Lead over Republicans in Five Senate Races

New Emerson College Polling/The Hill swing state polls find President Biden trailing former President Trump in the states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin; the differences are within each survey’s margin of error.

In Arizona, Trump leads by four points: 48% to 44%; 8% are undecided. In Georgia, 47% support Trump, 44% Biden, and 9% are undecided. In Michigan, 45% support Trump, 44% Biden, and 11% are undecided. In Nevada, 45% support Trump and 44% support Biden, while 11% are undecided. In North Carolina, 47% support Trump, and 42% Biden; 10% are undecided. In Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, 47% support Trump, 45% Biden, and 8% are undecided.

“The state of the presidential election in swing states has remained relatively consistent since Emerson and The Hill started tracking them last November,” Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, noted. “The share of undecided voters has reduced and Biden gained ground in Georgia and Nevada, narrowing the gap, while Trump has maintained a slight edge on Biden in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.”

“Independent voters break for Trump over Biden in Arizona (48%-38%), Michigan (44%-35%), Nevada (43%-37%), Pennsylvania (49%-33%), and North Carolina (41%-38%). However they break for Biden over Trump in Georgia (42%-38%) and Wisconsin (44%-41%),” Kimball noted.

Biden leads Trump among voters who are members of labor unions in Michigan (48%-46%), Pennsylvania (50%-43%), and Wisconsin (55%-44%).

When third-party candidates are included on the ballot, support is pulled away from Biden more than Trump in five states: Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. Support is drawn evenly from each candidate in Arizona and Michigan.

As the criminal trial is being held in New York, voters were asked which statement comes closer to their view: the trial is appropriate to hold Trump accountable, or the trial is a “witch hunt”. A plurality of voters in all swing states consider the trial appropriate to hold the former president accountable.

Voters were asked how a Trump guilty verdict would impact the likelihood of supporting him for president in 2024. A majority of Republicans say it would make them more likely to support Trump in 2024, while 15% of Pennsylvania Republicans say they are less likely to support Trump, along with 13% in Arizona, 11% in Wisconsin, 10% in Michigan, and 9% in Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina.

Impact of a guilty verdict on independent voters’ likelihood to support Trump:

AZ: 32% more likely, 25% less likely, 43% no impact

GA: 26% more likely, 32% less likely, 42% no impact

MI: 26% more likely, 30% less likely, 45% no impact

NC: 32% more likely, 25% less likely, 43% no impact

NV: 25% more likely, 32% less likely, 43% no impact

PA: 31% more likely, 24% less likely, 45% no impact

WI: 24% more likely, 30% less likely, 47% no impact

Statewide Elections

In the Arizona U.S. Senate election, 45% support Democrat Ruben Gallego to replace retiring Senator Kyrsten Sinema, while 43% support Republican Kari Lake; 12% are undecided. Since March, Gallego’s support has increased by one point, and Lake by three.

In the Pennsylvania U.S. Senate election, 46% support incumbent Democratic Senator Bob Casey, 42% support Republican Dave McCormick, and 12% are undecided.

In the Michigan U.S. Senate election, 42% support Democrat Elissa Slotkin for the open seat, 40% support Republican Mike Rogers, and 19% are undecided.

In Wisconsin, 46% of voters support incumbent Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin, while 43% support Republican Eric Hovde. Eleven percent are undecided.

In the North Carolina gubernatorial election, 42% support Republican Mark Robinson, while 41% support Democrat Josh Stein. Five percent plan to vote for someone else and 12% are undecided.

In a hypothetical U.S. Senate matchup between incumbent Democrat Jacky Rosen and Republican Sam Brown, Rosen leads 45% to 37%, with 18% undecided. When Rosen is matched up against Republican Jeff Gunter, Rosen leads 47% to 33%, with 21% undecided
