QAnon theorists accuse Oprah of wearing ankle monitor following secret arrest during Megxit interview

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey has the world fired up over racism allegations and mental health awareness.

But QAnon believers have their own unique take.

QAnon believers accuse Winfrey of wearing an ankle monitor underneath her leather boots on the popular QAnon channel We The Media.

An ankle monitor is connected to a previous QAnon theory that the talk-show host had been secretly arrested over child sex abuse allegations.

"Oprah ankle monitor?" a person wrote on Facebook, drawing attention to Winfrey's footwear.

The post was later flagged as "false information" by Facebook.

But QAnon users fail to realise that the so-called 'ankle monitor' may have just been the way her boots creased.

Independent fact-check website Politifact says there is no evidence to support the claim Winfrey was wearing an ankle monitor in the interview.

After watching clips and looking at still images, Politifact concludes that it looks to them like "a fold in Winfrey's leather boot".

"Unfounded claims that powerful figures such as politicians and celebrities have been arrested are not new and they're rooted in QAnon conspiracy theory," it says.

"We rate this post Pants on Fire."
