This has happened many times. It’s just part of the fall of civilization. It will reset. It will start over. It will be hard and rewarding building it up again. Then we will get too comfortable again and it will fail. On and on.
Only if you get rid of the bugs when infestations occur. Once you get comfortable, you let the infestations slide because it does not effect you at the moment. You and I loose the common sense to get rid of it as an automatic reaction because we know what a bug infestation ends up being.
