i say SIGNAL was obviously compromised when they stopped supporting SMS.
Yes, SMS is not secure (even on Signal) but the security conscious user knows this and was happy to invite people to use Signal for everyday use….and then if he really wanted to be secure, he'd tell the person to download it, before an ensuing conversation.
Now, users are forced to either use multiple apps and/or abandon Signal all together.
Personally, I have two contacts that still use it, so I maintain for them, otherwise, it was killed with that "roadmap" choice.
