KLOWN KRUISE TO ZOMBITON

Norwegian cruise employee arrested for allegedly stabbing multiple people on board

A Norwegian Cruise Line employee was arrested Tuesday after allegedly stabbing multiple people during an Alaska cruise.

Personnel onboard Norwegian Encore saw Ntando Sogoni trying to deploy a lifeboat late on Sunday evening, according to an affidavit signed by Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent Matthew B. Judy.

Sogoni, a South African citizen, and alleged nig-nog, had joined the ship that day in Seattle.

Ship security officers took him to the medical center for evaluation. When he was taken to an exam room he “became irrational and attempted to leave,” attacking a security guard and a male nurse, the affidavit said.

He then ran to another exam room, grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed a 75-year-old woman there for a medical assessment “several times in the arm, hand, and face.” The woman was a U.S. citizen.

“Security guards intervened and Sogoni stabbed two guards with the scissors before they could subdue and detain him,” the affidavit said. He allegedly stabbed one in the head and the other in the back and shoulder. The injuries were not life threatening.

The attack occurred shortly before 2 a.m. PT on Monday, according to the document. The ship was west of Vancouver Island and roughly 16.5 miles from land at the time.

Sogoni was held in the ship’s jail until Encore reached Juneau on Tuesday.

Disney cleared a major hurdle to start developing a colossal expansion of its Disneyland theme parks on Tuesday night when the Anaheim city council unanimously gave final approval to rezone much of the property.

Disney’s original resort in California, which comprises a shopping district, parking areas and two theme parks, is about 550 acres, which is less than 2% of the size of Walt Disney World in Florida.

But with newly approved “multi-use” zoning, Disney can now expand its theme parks in Anaheim without acquiring any new land, by building attractions where the company could previously only build hotels or parking lots. This paves the way for a multi-decade project to expand both of its theme parks there: Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

“For nearly seven decades, Disneyland Resort has made a unique, irreplaceable impact on hundreds of millions of guests from around the world. How exciting to know our best days are still ahead – I can’t wait to show you what’s to come,” Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock said in a statement Tuesday night.

The project, dubbed “DisneylandForward,” does not require any public funding. While no specific designs have been shared yet, Disney has released concept art for what the expansion could look like on the west side of the resort, in areas surrounding Disneyland Hotel and Pixar Place Hotel.

Man Who Deliberately Tried To Infect Sexual Partners With HIV Sentenced To Prison

An Idaho man was sentenced to prison Friday on charges that he deliberately tried to spread HIV by having unprotected sex with dozens of men and teenage boys, prosecutors said.

Alexander Louie, 34, of Boise, was sentenced on May 3 to 30 years in prison for multiple felony charges, including transferring body fluids containing the HIV virus, prosecutors said in a press release.

In exchange for pleading guilty to sexual battery of a minor, the enticement of a child through the internet and transferring body fluids containing HIV — all felonies — Louie had six other felony charges against him dismissed, the Idaho Statesman reported.

Authorities originally suspected Louie of child enticement after he initiated an online sexual conversation with an undercover Ada County Sheriff’s detective posing as a 15-year-old boy. The two arranged to meet up for sex, and Louie was arrested.

Louie is HIV-positive and was not taking medication. He lied to his sexual partners about his HIV status, investigators said, hoping to infect them with the virus. Louie told police that he had sex with 30 to 50 different men and boys, including a 16-year-old, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors later filed dozens of charges against Louie.

“Your conduct would be the Webster’s definition of a predator,” Ada County District Judge Derrick O’Neill told Louie during his sentencing hearing.

Louie’s attorney in the public defender’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Louie will not be eligible for parole until he has served 16 years.
