A recent map has revealed the alarming trend of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) acquiring vast swaths of American farmland, raising serious national security concerns.

Foreign ownership of U.S. agricultural land expanded to approximately 43.4 million acres in 2022, according to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

According to the USDA, Chinese investors’ ownership of U.S. agricultural land has skyrocketed from merely 13,720 acres in 2010 to an astounding 346,915 acres by 2022 out of the 43 million acres.

Chinese entities hold ownership of farmland across 29 of the 50 U.S. states.

According to the data reviewed by The Gateway Pundit, Canadian investors hold the largest share of foreign-owned agricultural and non-agricultural land in the U.S., owning 32 percent or 14.2 million acres.

Additionally, investors from four other countries—Netherlands (12 percent), Italy (6 percent), the United Kingdom (6 percent), and Germany (5 percent)—together possess another 13 million acres, accounting for 29 percent of all foreign-held land in the U.S.

The remaining 38 percent, or 17.1 million acres, are owned by various other countries. For instance, China owns 346,915 acres, representing just under 1 percent of the foreign-held acres.

Despite Chinese entities owning less than 1 percent of the foreign-held agricultural land in the U.S., the topic has garnered significant attention.

Brazil-based JBS, the world's largest beef producer, wrote in a statement, "We're working diligently with US and Chinese authorities to resolve the situation as soon as possible."

Bloomberg said JBS' Greeley location is the only US meat processing plant affected by the Beijing import suspension. The suspension notice was first posted on the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service website.

In recent months, major food safety, environmental, and animal rights groups, including the Center for Food Safety, the Center for Biological Diversity, the Animal Legal Defense Fund, and others, have filed a lawsuit in federal court. They claim that the Food & Drug Administration has been turning a blind eye to requests for a review for ractopamine. Two men arrested in “dangerous scheme” to smuggle people from B.C. across U.S. border

Two men have been charged in a human smuggling case that the U.S. Department of Justice has called a “dangerous scheme” to traffic people from British Columbia into the United States via freight trains.

Jesus Ortiz-Plata, 45, of Oregon and 35-year-old Juan Pablo Cuellar Medina of Washington were arrested last week and face charges of human smuggling. Three other non-citizens were also arrested after allegedly being smuggled out of B.C. into the U.S.

Washington State prosecutor Tessa Gorman called it “an extremely dangerous smuggling scheme,” according to the Vancouver Sun.

The two are also suspected to have been involved in a case last August that saw 29 people rescued from a freight car filled with plastic pellets.

According to an affidavit filed by a U.S. Homeland Security officer, 28 of those rescued were Mexican nationals and one was Colombian.

A university professor from Quebec who compared vaccinations to crimes against humanity was removed from the province's order of chemists for one year.

“The respondent's comments in his publications […] lack moderation and objectivity and are inappropriate and dangerous for the public,” was the conclusion reached by the disciplinary council of the Order of Chemists of Quebec.

Christian Linard, a professor in the chiropractic department at the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivieres (UQTR) was found to have shared several anti-vaccine posts, including some from before the COVID-19 pandemic about vaccines against measles, hepatitis B, or meningitis.

“Vaccines and crimes against humanity!” he posted in March 2019.

An immunologist was brought to court to pick apart his posts and concluded that they lacked “rigour” and could “mislead the public.”

French President Emmanuel Macron has asked Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to give Airbus and other aerospace firms relief from sanctions on Russian titanium, Reuters reported on Thursday, citing sources.

Canada broke ranks with allies and banned supplies from Russian manufacturing giant VSMPO-AVISMA – the world’s largest producer of processed titanium – in a sanctions package against Moscow unveiled in February.

Titanium is important to the aerospace industry and is prized for its strength relative to its weight. It is used mainly in aircraft engines and the landing gear of large planes.

People familiar with the matter told Reuters that Macron’s request was made during a phone call in March. A “source close to the French leader” reportedly said a “significant effort” had been made to convince Trudeau to grant an exemption for European companies.

“Many messages were passed at all levels,” the source added, referring to broad diplomatic and industrial pressure.

At least one other European government also weighed in to support the lobbying effort, according to a separate source.

Ottawa initially stood its ground, but later granted France-based Airbus and several other aerospace firms waivers from its sanctions.

“I think if the French government had not raised it continuously at that level, we would have held pretty firm,” a Canadian source told Reuters, describing Ottawa’s decision. Continue…
