Irrelevant who or what is representing the people. If they are allowed to hide behind secrets or national security to cover their ass, they will. They will eventually use it for personal gain as has happened in the U.S. Hopefully we will get to a point where these secrets are only to be kept for a very short timeline and any wrong doing will no longer be hidden from the people. People make mistakes, and sometimes very bad ones, but criminality can not be tolerated. It's been how many years since Kennedy has been assassinated and the complete files may never be opened to the general public. Who and what are they protecting and why? I can guess but the facts are better.
