Former Baltimore state attorney Marilyn Mosby was sentenced on Thursday to one year of home confinement after she was convicted of mortgage fraud and perjury.

Mosby was found guilty of two perjury counts and of lying about the finances of a business in November, in order to improperly access retirement funds during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mosby used the funds to purchase two Florida homes.

The former prosecutor was also sentenced to three years of supervised release and 100 hours of community service, according to the Associated Press.

“I’m just so incredibly grateful,” Mosby told supporters outside the courthouse. “This is not over, but God was here today.”

Lawyers for Mosby said they plan to appeal her conviction and are seeking a presidential pardon.

The sentence is notably less than the five years Mosby could have received for her crimes, or the 20-month prison sentence prosecutors were seeking. U.S. District Judge Lydia Kay Griggsby questioned whether there were any victims in the crime, but admitted that Mosby showed a "pattern of dishonesty" when serving in a public office. ..

Videos and reports circulating the internet show hundreds of Harvard University students and faculty walked out of the school’s commencement ceremony on Thursday, wearing keffiyehs and waving Palestinian flags and anti-Israel banners.

National Review reports the Harvard Out of Occupied Palestine (HOOP) coalition, which organized the university’s anti-Israel encampment, posted a video of students marching out of the area in which commencement was held on its Instagram page. The video shows students chanting “hey hey, ho ho, the occupation has got to go” and is accompanied by a caption that reads, “over a THOUSAND of Harvard students and faculty have walked out of graduation.”

Shabbos Kestenbaum, who graduated from Harvard Divinity School on Thursday and is currently involved in a lawsuit against the university over its inaction on campus antisemitism, posted a video on his X account capturing the scene in which protesters — both students and faculty — rose from their seats and walked toward the exit, chanting “let them walk” and “disclose, divest, we will not stop, we will not rest” and inviting those around them to the “People’s Commencement,” an event student activist groups organized as a substitute for Harvard’s official ceremony.

In response to a National Review comment request, Harvard’s media-relations department responded with a section of interim president Alan Garber’s welcome address during the ceremony. ..

The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic published evidence ahead of a hearing that explains the senior scientific adviser to then-National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Anthony Fauci actually bragged about helping Fauci evade the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

The adviser, David Morens, admitted in his own communications to intentionally evading FOIA by using a Fauci’s private Gmail address or just handing him documents in person, according to the newly disclosed emails.

The 35-page report on Morens includes previously unreleased emails including:

An April 21, 2021 email shows Morens contacted EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak, whom Morens has described as his “best friend” and a U.S. taxpayer conduit for the Wuhan Institute of Virology, as well as Boston University and New England Biolabs researchers.

The subject line references “CoV research in China, GoF, etc.,” referring to EcoHealth-facilitated coronavirus research at WIV that could make a virus more transmissible or dangerous. The National Institutes of Health recently admitted it funded gain-of-function research under that definition but not a stricter regulatory definition.

“PS, i forgot to say there is no worry about FOIAs,” Morens wrote. “I can either send stuff to Tony on his private gmail, or hand it to him at work or at his house. He is too smart to let colleagues send him stuff that could cause trouble.”

A May 13, 2021 email to the same recipients referred to “our ‘secret’ back channel” by which Morens connected Fauci to a journalist named “Arthur,” apparently to discuss the feds’ preferred narrative that SARS-CoV-2 emerged naturally rather than via lab leak. A coalition of House Republicans, led by House Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green, penned a letter to the Biden Administration on Thursday, demanding information on migrants who attempted to breach a Marine base earlier this month.

The letter, addressed to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Department of Defense (DOD) Secretary Lloyd Austin, and FBI Director Christopher Wray, sought information on the two Jordanian migrants who were reportedly in the United States illegally.

One of the migrants was allegedly on the terrorist watchlist, according to a press release from the House Homeland Security Committee.

"The Committee fears that the Department of Homeland Security’s relaxed vetting standards, which complement President Biden’s avowed desire to 'surge the border' with inadmissible migrants, have created an environment ripe for exploitation by individuals aiming to undermine the United States at its most critical points," Green wrote in the letter. "If individuals on the terrorist watchlist are so emboldened to attempt to breach a Marine Corps base, the Department of Homeland Security and the entire executive branch must act swiftly to identify, apprehend, and detain such hostile actors on American soil.”
