No, he's not not right. He's a clown trying to generate consensus by trying to define what is acceptable behavior. No one is attacking the abbreviation, they're calling it out as not organic. People can see that there's something off with it, that it's forced. Pointing that out, noticing it is not an attack. Trying to frame pointing it out as an attack is gaslighting. And you're giving support to a clown.
I'm not triggered by it though. I see it for what it is and call it out for what it is. There's no emotion involved. It says a lot about the conviction of those clowns too.
