We know the Wonderland chess game contained a lot of illegal chess moves. (SEE IMAGE) We know that Alice's time tables were in base 18, which is why she said she'd never get to 20. We know Lewis Carroll loved ciphers and created his own.

 

Chess Notation uses letters then numbers (File and Rank). Languages like Hexadecimal and Base 18 use Numbers then Letters (Rank and File)

 

Hexadecimal only uses A-F while Base 18 uses A-H. I realize that Chess is only 1-8, but what if the chess game was a cipher itself. There is most certainly hidden meaning in the books, especially the King/Messenger page… and many more connections with Base 18 that I posted before.
