I don't think what they can do and want to do matters any longer. The judge legally can't change the number of votes needed by the jury to convict either, but he did. The judge can't legally change a statute that is a misdemeanor to a felony either, but he did.
The left doesn't care about the rule of law, they just make it up as they go, and no one stops them.

The judge knows that their media minions will back him up no matter which way that he goes. As long as the end result is Trump getting convicted / going to jail, they will "flalsely" claim that it is legal.
