Osama Siblani, Arab Community Leader In Dearborn, Michigan: 40 Years Ago, The Mayor Of Dearborn Warned Of The City's 'Arab Problem' – Now 'The Arabs Are Ruling Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, And Hamtramck'; 'We Are On The Road To The White House, To Congress, To The Decision-Making Everywhere In The U.S.'

Osama Siblani, the editor and publisher of The Arab-American News said in a May 10, 2024 address at the Islamic Center of America in Dearborn, Michigan that the Arab-American community is on the way to the White House, Congress, and decision making everywhere in America. He said that 40 years ago, the mayor of Dearborn said that the city had an "Arab problem," and now Siblani said: "The Arabs are ruling Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, and Hamtramck." Siblani spoke at a dinner hosted by the Lebanese International Business Council in honor of former director of the Lebanese General Security Agency Major General Abbas Ibrahim, who is known for ties with Lebanese Hizbullah.

Earlier, in November 2023, Siblani shared the stage with Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud and several extremists in a pro-Palestinian rally where the dismantling of Israel was being called for.Siblani said that a new generation has emerged, who will "clean" the U.S. Congress and White House of bloodthirsty killers. He said: "We are on the road to a great victory here in D.C. and there in Palestine" (See MEMRI TV clip 10862).

Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud shares the stage with Osama Siblani inNovember 2023

In a 2022 Nakba Day rally attended by U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Siblani praised Palestinian martyrs and said that Arabswill "lift Palestinians all the way to victory," whether in Michigan or in Jenin, andthat all means should be used, including stones, guns, planes, drones, and rockets(See MEMRI TV clip 9566). The previous year, in the 2021 Nakba Day rally, also attended by Rep. Tlaib, Siblani, Siblani praised Palestinian rockets (See MEMRI TV Clip 9598). For more on Siblani, see clips 10927 and 10901.

Osama Siblani: "We have the best we can offer to the United States of America – not only in Michigan, but across the country – and we [have] offered our best.[…]

"The best is yet to come. I can be very confident to tell you that we are on the road to the White House, to Congress, to the decision-making everywhere in the United States.[…]

"Forty years ago, we had a mayor for this town who talked about the Arab problem. Guess what? The Arabs are ruling Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, and Hamtramck. […]

"So brothers and sisters, we are on the road. I am saying this because yesterday, when we welcomed our brother and leader, [fmr. Lebanese security chief]Abbas Ibrahim, at the airport, he has seen and witnessed the kind of power and connections that we have."

SCROLL DOWN TO FIND YOUR COUNTY!

We have over 100 of Texas’s 254 counties listed. We started with the 25 where we have TTP satellites, and we’ve added more as people have requested them. If your county is not listed, you may email julie@truetexasproject.com to politely ask for it. We have not deliberately left any county off, so no need to get angry or offended. We add them as requested and as time allows. Otherwise, you may want to at least use the list of candidates that are on EVERY Texas GOP ballot, which is the first list provided below.

True Texas Project will never tell you how to vote! We will, however, provide input for you to add to your own additional research. Our Board and our local leadership teams work hard to vet candidates. Then we vote to see which candidate we’d personally pick. It doesn’t mean we necessarily like the candidate (sometimes we do, but sometimes we have to pick the lesser of all evils). So a recommendation from True Texas Project really just means that out of the options in front of us, THIS is the person we’d vote for. When our panel is unanimous in selecting a candidate AND we believe that candidate is highly likely to represent us well and not cave, then we’ll offer an endorsement. Endorsements are rare. Only contested races are included.

For races larger than the county (State Rep, School Board, etc), votes were placed by the 7 members of our TTP Board unless otherwise indicated.

For races at the county level and smaller (commissioners, constables, etc) , votes were made by the local TTP leadership teams.

For races in counties without a True Texas Project, we relied on local patriots we trust in the area.

You may disagree, and that’s ok! We just want this to be a starting point for your own research.

Lists are divided below by county. For a comprehensive list of most of our choices for big races like US Senate, US House, statewide races, State Board of Education districts, State Senate districts, and State House districts, click here….

It’s not just guilty or not guilty. Here are all the possible outcomes of the Trump trial.

Jury deliberations could last anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks.

By ERICA ORDEN 05/27/2024 05:00 PM EDT1/2

NEW YORK — The first prosecution of a former president is nearing the end. The 12 New Yorkers who will soon weigh the evidence in Donald Trump’s Manhattan criminal trial could reach three different verdicts. All would require a unanimous decision.

If they can’t agree, there’s a fourth possible outcome: a hung jury. Plus, there’s another result that, while extremely unlikely at this point, could end the case without the jury’s input at all. Closing arguments are scheduled for Tuesday. Then, the judge will instruct the jury on the relevant law, and the jurors will begin their secret deliberations — which could last anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks.

Here are the 5 ways the Trump trial could conclude:

Conviction on all counts

Trump is charged with 34 counts of felony falsification of business records.

Those records, prosecutors allege, were made in connection with a scheme to mask the true source of former Trump fixer Michael Cohen’s $130,000 payment to silence porn star Stormy Daniels on the eve of the 2016 election and prevent her from going public with her claim that she had sex with Trump a decade earlier.

For the jurors to find Trump guilty of all 34 counts, they must find beyond a reasonable doubt not only that Trump falsified or caused the falsification of business records “with intent to defraud” but also that he did so with the intent to commit or conceal another crime. That second element — the intent to commit or conceal another crime — elevates the charges to felonies.

Prosecutors have offered three possible underlying crimes — violations of state or federal election law and a tax crime — but the jurors do not all have to agree on what that separate crime was, Justice Juan Merchan ruled. In the case of conviction, Trump is all but certain to appeal the verdict.

Conviction on some counts, acquittal on others

Though all 34 of the felony counts were brought in connection with the same general set of allegations, each of the counts concerns a separate business record. Those records include checks, check stubs and entries in the general ledger for the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust and Trump’s personal account, both of which were used to reimburse Cohen for the $130,000 he initially laid out for the payment to Daniels.

And some records are invoices from Cohen that the Trump Organization kept.

In theory, the jury could find that, say, Trump did falsify business records by cutting the checks from the trust and his personal account, but he doesn’t bear responsibility for the invoices from Cohen.

In that scenario, the jury could convict Trump of some charges and acquit him of others. The 12 jurors would have to unanimously agree on the verdict for each of the counts.

Acquittal on all counts

There are a number of ways the jury could come to the decision that Trump is not guilty on all 34 counts: They could find that Trump didn’t make false business records or cause others to make them; that he made them but not with the intent to defraud; or that he made them with the intent to defraud but not in service of committing or covering up an underlying crime.

(Doesn't Todd Blanche look like the Punisher?)

2/2

The jury can’t choose to convict Trump on the third option, though technically a misdemeanor crime in New York, because Trump’s lawyers didn’t request that the jury instructions include “lesser included offenses,” which would have allowed the jury to weigh misdemeanors.

Again, all 12 jurors would have to agree that Trump isn’t guilty of any of the 34 charges for the jury to fully acquit him in any of these scenarios.A “not guilty” verdict would be final: Under the Constitution’s bar on “double jeopardy,” prosecutors cannot appeal acquittals.

Hung jury

This is where things get dicey. If even a single juror cannot come to the same conclusion as the 11 others, Trump will get a hung jury.

This is far from unprecedented. Two years ago, a lone holdout juror who reportedly ranted about a “government witch hunt” during deliberations forced a mistrial in Manhattan federal court in the case of a businessman charged with fraud alongside Trump ally Steve Bannon. (The defendant, however, was later convicted for his role in a fraudulent fundraising scheme.)

And in 2012, in the prosecution of former Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) — a case with passing similarities to the Trump case — the jury hung on five counts of campaign finance fraud and conspiracy.

If the jury seems as though they have reached an impasse during deliberations, the jurors will likely inform the judge of their predicament.

Merchan would then likely give them a set of instructions called an “Allen” charge, which asks them to go back and deliberate further to try to reach a uniform conclusion.

If they say they still can’t reach a unanimous verdict, Merchan would declare a mistrial. In theory, the jury could hang on some charges, but reach a verdict on others.

The Manhattan district attorney’s office could choose to retry the case, but given the resources required to hold a criminal trial of a former president — and the possibility Trump could be president-elect by November — it’s not clear they would do so.

Directed verdict

It’s unlikely, but still possible, that the judge could remove the jury from the equation entirely.

Merchan could take the decision out of the jury’s hands by issuing a “directed verdict” for acquittal — in essence, a determination by the judge that no reasonable jury could find that the prosecution has proved its case. Such verdicts are more commonly issued immediately after the prosecution rests. But it’s still an option that Merchan could take, even after the trial ends.

Trump’s lead defense lawyer, Todd Blanche, asked Merchan to dismiss the case last week, citing insufficient evidence. Blanche’s motion remains pending.

Putin warns West about consequences of attacking Russia

Moscow knows who would be behind long-range “Ukrainian” strikes, the president has said

Kiev's Western backers need to understandthatlong-range strikes on Russian territoryusing weaponry they have supplied would represent aconflict escalationthat would have “serious consequences,” Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned.

Speaking to reporters at the end of a two-day visit to Uzbekistan, Putin addressed recent Ukrainian demands for NATO to permit the use of their weapons to attack deep inside Russia as well as comments by the US-led bloc’s head, Jens Stoltenberg, appearing to endorse the tactic.

“To be honest, I don’t know what the NATO secretary-general is saying,”Putin told reporters, adding that Stoltenberg “did not suffer from any dementia” when he worked constructively with Russia as the prime minister of Norway (2005-2013).

This constant escalation can lead to serious consequences. If these serious consequences occur in Europe, how will the US behave, bearing in mind our parity in the field of strategic weapons?Hard to say. Do they want global conflict?

Putin explained thatlong-range precision strikes require space reconnaissance assets– whichUkraine does not have, but the US does – and that their targeting is alreadydone by “highly qualified specialists” from the West, without Ukrainian participation.

“So, these representatives ofNATO countries, especially in Europe, especially in small countries, must be aware of what they are playing with,” the Russian president said, noting that a lot of these countries have “a small territory and a very dense population.”

Putin reminded reporters that their colleagues in the West never reported on theUkrainian attacks on Belgorodand other Russian regions along the border, only about the Russian advance on Kharkov.

“What caused this? They did, with their own hands.Well, then, they will reap what they have sown. The same thing can happen if long-range precision weapons are used,” the Russian president added.

Asked if Russia was refusing to negotiate with Ukraine, Putin told reporters that such claims by the West were baffling.

“We don’t refuse!” he said. “I’ve said it a thousand times, it’s like they don’t have ears!”

The Ukrainian side initialed an agreement with Russia in March 2022, then publicly reneged and refused to negotiate any further, Putin explained. He described Kiev’s current “peace conference” effort in Switzerland as an attempt to get some kind of international buy-in for their entirely unrealistic “peace platform,” which isn’t working out.

Pope sorry for ‘faggotry’ – Vatican(KEK)

The Holy See has walked back the pontiff’s alleged “offensive” comments

Pope sorry for ‘faggotry’ – Vatican (it was the first time he's been truthful)

The Holy See has officially apologized to anyone who took offense at a term which Pope Francis reportedly used to describe what is going on at Catholic seminaries.

Last week, during a closed-door conference with Italian bishops, the pontiff came out in opposition to gay men enrolling in seminaries, as there is too much “frociaggine” (Italian for “faggotry”) there already, several Italian outlets reported on Monday.

“The Pope never intended to offend or express himself in homophobic terms, and he apologizes to those who felt offended by the use of a term, as reported by others,” papal spokesman Matteo Bruni said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Pope Francis is aware of the recent articles regarding a closed-door conversation with the bishops of the CEI. As he has stated on many occasions, ‘There is room for everyone in the Church, for everyone! No one is useless; no one is superfluous; there is room for everyone. Just as we are, everyone’,” Bruni added.

Outlets La Repubblica and Corriere della Sera, among others, quoted unnamed Italian bishops who said the pope had used the term “jokingly,” while justifying the Vatican’s ongoing ban on gays in the priesthood.

Vatican speaks out against sex-change surgeryREAD MORE: Vatican speaks out against sex-change surgery

The current pontiff was born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Argentina, and grew up speaking Spanish as his native language. When the 87-year-old uses Italian, he “often speaks informally, jokes using slang and even curses in private,” according to AP.

Since 2005, the Vatican has banned persons who “practice homosexuality, present deep-seated homosexual tendencies or support the so-called gay culture” from enrolling in seminaries or getting ordained as clergymen. A document recently adopted by the Italian bishops’ conference has reportedly sought to redefine the ban by mandating celibacy instead. Unlike some Orthodox clergy, Roman Catholic priests are forbidden from marrying.

Pope Francis has been known for LGBT outreach since the start of his papacy in 2013, from ministering to transgender Catholics to allowing priests to bless same-sex couples. In an interview last year, he argued that homosexuality was “not a crime” – but maintained that Catholicism regarded it as a sin, just like any sex outside of marriage.

Just last month, however, the Roman Catholic Church denounced surrogacy and so-called “gender-affirming” surgery as being on par with abortion and euthanasia.

NATO training for nuclear strike on Russia – general

The US-led bloc poses a military threat to the country, the head of the border guard service has warned

NATO nations are preparing for possible nuclear strikes on Russia, a senior Moscow general has warned.

Vladimir Kulishov, the first deputy director of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB), and head of the country’s Border Guard Service, outlined threats that his branch has to deal within an interview with RIA Novosti.

”NATO intelligence operationsclose to theRussian border are on the rise.

Forces of the alliance are intensifying military training, in which they work out military scenarios against the Russian Federation, including nuclear strikes on our territory,” he told the news agency on Tuesday.

Russian officials have previouslycriticized NATO’s nuclear sharing scheme, under which some American weapons are stored in non-nuclear nations, includingBelgium,Germany,Italy=, the Netherlands and Türkiye==.

Moscow isparticularly concerned that non-host nations are involvedin training exercises on how to deploy the weapons. In January 2022, weeks before the Ukraine conflict escalated into open hostilities, Vladimir Ermakov, the head of the non-proliferation department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in an interview that Moscow views the US-led military bloc's moves as beingdirectly targeted against the country.

Russia has blamed NATO’s expansion in Europe and its increasing presence in Ukraine for the ongoing crisis, which it considers part of a US-led proxy war against it. The military support which Washington and its allies have provided to Kiev may result in an unchecked escalation and adirect war with Russia, which is likely to resultin a nuclear exchange, officials in Moscow have warned.

President Vladimir Putinordered a drill earlierthis month to test Russia’sability to use non-strategic nuclear weapons. The move was described as a reaction to hostile statements by the West.

Nations that donate longer-range weapons to Kiev are currently considering lifting restrictions on their use against targets located in what they recognize as Russian territory. British Foreign Secretary David Cameron has claimed that Kiev “has the right” to deliver such strikes with arms it gets from the UK.

The Russian exercise is being conducted jointly with Belarus. Moscow decided last year to store a part of its arsenal on Belarusian territory, saying it was necessary to counterbalance NATO’s scheme amid rising tensions.

Biden’s Ukraine conference snub a major boost for Russia – Zelensky (Whines and Cries)

The US president is set to miss an international gathering in Switzerland next month, in order to attend a fundraiser in Los Angeles

Theabsence of US President Joe Bidenfrom an international gathering on the Ukraine conflict in Switzerland next month would bea gift to Russia, Vladimir Zelensky has said.

The American leader is set to miss the so-called “peace summit” in Burgenstock in mid-June, and will insteadattend a fundraiserin Los Angeles attended by George Clooney, according to media reports. Zelensky claimed on Tuesday that ifBiden misses the summit, it would “not be a particularly strong move.”(Zelensky hasn’t noticed Joe lost interest about 2-3 months ago, and he’s losing to Trump, but “Zelensky” is more important. I think Z is gonna get a call from the SOS to shut to fuck up)

“…other leaders who watch the US reaction, need President Biden,”he told reporters during a press conference in Belgium. Zelensky claimed that Russian President VladimirPutin “would be on his feet applauding” the anticipated absence of his American counterpart.

US Vice President KamalaHarris will also not attendthe conference, which excludes Russia at the request of Ukrainian government and is scheduled for June 15-16.More than 90 nationshave confirmed their intention to take part in the summit, according to Zelensky. (I bet a lot of countries will bail out before it starts)

Moscow considers the summit a “scam” intended to whip up support for Zelensky’s “peace formula” among non-Western nations under false pretenses. It says this document, which was first published in 2022, amounts to a demand for a Russian capitulation in the Ukraine conflict. Even if a Russian delegation were invited, it would not participate in the gathering, the Foreign Ministry has said.
