=The Martha’s Vineyard man charged in a stabbing spree from Braintree to Plymouth was hit with a warrant accusing him of attempted murder in connection with the alleged slashing of 4 young girls in a Braintree movie theater just as a doctor told court Tuesday the suspect was in a “psychotic” state and recommended he be locked up for a psychological evaluation.==
The judge at Plymouth District Court agreed and Jared Ravizza, 26, of Chilmark, was referred to Bridgewater State Hospital. Ravizza is being held without bail during the evaluation.
Ravizza is charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault to murder (armed), and indecent exposure, after officials say he stabbed a pair of employees at a Plymouth McDonald’s before leading police on a chase that ended in a crash and his arrest in Sandwich.
In addition, the Braintree Police department announced late Tuesday morning it had sought and received warrants charging Ravizza with four counts of Assault to Murder and four counts of Assault and Battery with Dangerous Weapon in connection with his alleged attack on four girls aged 9-17, at an AMC movie theater Saturday night.
Braintree Police praised the girls for their bravery during and after the horrific attack.
Ravizza is dueback in court on June 17.
