Your DNA passes down to your progeny even after you've expired. Genetic memory is real, and lingers in the generations after you until whatever useful evolutionary traits you pass down either lose their usefulness, or are supercedes by someone else's. Outside of that, you'll eventually be forgotten unless you are venerated for some sort of other accomplishment that the perceptions of others deem noteworthy.
Knowing 99% of everything would be useless for the entire purpose of life. As you've noticed, the more that gets revealed, the more horrific it all becomes. Unless you are a fan of the exceedingly grotesque, it's best to spend energy in a forward and positive direction.
