Sulaiman Ataee, the 25-year-old guy who stabbed multiple people and killed a police officer at a political gathering in Mannheim last Friday, had been living illegally in Germany for a long time. This was reported by the German newspaper WELT. Already in 2014, a year after he came to Germany from Afghanistan, he was ordered to leave by the German immigration service. However, he was never deported. In 2023, he suddenly received a temporary residence permit because he had fathered a child with a German woman and shared custody of the child. By then, he had already become radicalized.
