imagine owning a business and you're the top dog the big company and there were dozens of competitors in your market. Now imagine your company needing a new facility or new equipment or even workers. Now instead of investing your revenue back into your company to provide it the things it needs to be successful, you decide that, that money would be better spent GIVING it to your competitors so they can buy the facilities and equipment and employees that they need.
