7 killed as school bus plunges into Syrian river

Footage from Syria's White Helmets claims to show the aftermath of a school bus which plunged into a river
A mangled white school bus laid on its side in the river as dozens of people swam near the vehicle, footage released by a local civil defense organization also known as the White Helmets showed.
Rescuers scrambled over rocks on the cliffside to search for survivors, while medical personnel tended to the victims, images from the video also showed.
The bus was on a school trip when the vehicle went off the road in the Ayoun Ara area, west of the city of Idlib, and fell into Orontes River, a statement from the White Helmets said. It was not immediately clear what caused the bus to go off the road.
