The incident occurred at Kultorvet, a busy public square in the heart of Copenhagen. The assailant has been arrested, though the motive behind the attack remains unclear.

According to Dagens.dk, The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the event but declined to provide further details.

Prime Minister Frederiksen expressed her shock in a written statement released shortly after the attack. While visibly shaken, she assured the public that she is otherwise unharmed.

According to Manningham group Menzies for Palestine, the vandals carried out the graffiti on Thursday, June 6, between 10.30pm and 11.30pm.

'Direct assault on the Jewish community': Anti-Israel vandalism hits park in Melbourne's east

A park in Melbourne’s east frequented by the local Jewish community was vandalised with an anti-Israel slogan deemed “a direct assault on the Jewish community” by a local leader.

“Imagine the anguish a Holocaust survivor walking with his grandchildren in the park would have felt confronted with this crime, which they probably thought they would never see in their lifetime,” Dr Abramovich said.

“Melbourne is now the anti-Israel and antisemitic capital of Australia as these home-grown radicals run wild, spreading their dangerous agenda and changing what was once a tolerant haven into a cesspool of ugly propaganda.

“The vile stampede of anti-Israel defacement that has defiled our city is reaching pitch fever and is undermining our sense of security.”

The vandalism, Dr Abramovich argues, is a clear call for the destruction of Israel and an attack on the Melbourne Jewish community amid rising antisemitism.

“This revolting graffiti, which tries and hide the fact that anti-Zionism is pure antisemitism and is a call for the destruction of Israel, is a direct assault on the Jewish community,” he said.
