We're warned about being "lukewarm" in our faith (Revelation 3:16), but we often think about that in terms of how we talk about our relationship with God to others, instead of considering how much of our day-to-day thinking and planning is truly centered on Him.
Sometimes, we "phone it in" with a script of what we typically say in prayer before eating dinner, or before drifting asleep—and it's worth asking, when was the last time you've come to God with a long, honest, vulnerable prayer?
Sometimes, we think if we're doing "really well" in one aspect of living out our faith, we don't need to address some of our other traits that could use some attention, like our impatience, anger, tendency to gossip and/or complain, feeling like it's up to us (and only us) to fix issues that pop up in our lives, etc.
But when we're loving the Lord our God with our full heart, mind, soul and strength, we're relying on Him fully and living in a way that's keeping His commands for our lives and His encouragement front and center.
Jesus, it's one thing for us to say we love You with everything that we are, and another thing to live in a way that shows You are our compass, our guide, our everything. Please help us stay focused on You and seek intentional time with You each and every day.
Amen
Tyb, evil digits. Not today, Satan.
